I don’t know if enslaving centaur would be a very good thing, but this seems like a fantastic idea. Maybe this could be a mobility based map rather than a more siege turtle based map like the current WvW maps are with more fragile keeps/towers. Maybe even automated defences on fortifications/points with stronger aoe to deter giant zergs.
Interesting, but there is one problem.
WvW is a three-way battle. Harathi is between only TWO forces. It’s not a good map just because of that.
Actually this could be a really fun WvW map. Put keeps in Modniir Gorge, ruins of holy demetra or SW of acra lake, and one in nightguard beach.
My moves are fresh, like my groceries.

The centaurs could serve as a quaggan like objective- curry their favor and then they assist you in your objectives.

That doesn’t address what I said at all.
This could be overflow map. Capturing and defending objective could give loot. Harder fight would mean better chance get something good. Of course i wouldn’t ever go normal W3 maps.

Sorry you are right, i derped when i quoted you. But the map itself could be divided into 3 sections- the western edge where the ruins of demetra are, the NE corner where cloven hoof WP is, and the SE corner where shieldbluff WP is. Put a keep like objective in the middle and towers in between the three corners i outlined, each corner gets a keep.

Using a 1v1 map as an overflow for randomly assigning people as an option for queue wait [Queue for Eternal Battlegrounds? (Yes | No | Warmup)] actually sounds like a decent idea. You get to kill people and avoid that whole PvE thing and makes that queue time pass a lot faster.

Instead of a WvW map, why not make it a 50 v 50 GvG map with WvW-esque elements in it. Towers and Keeps etc, whichever team claims them all or has the most at the end at a 30 minute timer (changeable obviously) wins.
Spose then again, maybe not specifically GvG, but more Team vs Team. Doubt that many guilds could routinely queue with 50 people online and willing at once.
I don’t know about the Hinterlands in specific, does seem like a decent choice, but I like the idea in principle a lot of using an existing map for a new WvW map. Since they said making a new map is the most time consuming thing.
Well here you have maps already done in the world, and thus all the hard pathing and positional hurdles for characters and mobs already all figured out. Just yank out the NPC’s, find a few spots for towers and such and you are ready to go.
Only thing is they would have to get over the idea of a map being perfectly symmetrical, as the Borderlands are, and EB is still kind of made in that way to a degree. This map might have much stronger advantages to starting on one side or the other. Maybe some minor tweaks could be done to the terrain if necessary to make any more restricted starting regions a bit more open or accessible.
And to make it fit with the lore, just say the whole thing takes place in the past in a fractals of the mists type thing. You’re fighting for your world, in the past.
