Having to pick up loot bags is incredibly annoying
Don’t they spawn on you so that you DON’T have to go get them?

Actually, I guess if you aren’t a ranged class, that could still be a problem…

I wish they spawned in my inventory instead of at my feet, too. It’s distracting. I mean it’s not a gamebreaker or anything, it would just be nice.

And I’ll admit, sometimes I do forget them or just am not paying attention in the heat of the moment

They spawn at your feet, but with a delay so half the time you notice it would mean death to go pick it up..
Spam F. I never have a problem getting them, melee guardian

I find it counter productive to play a game based on player movement and dodge-rolls and then have the loot drop where the player used to be.
Just send the loot to our bags already.
I echo this sentiment.
PvP and general gameplay in GW2 is fluid, dynamic and fun. Many professions are given good mobility and movement skills to keep their fights at a fast, adrenaline pumping pace.
Having to constantly check below one’s feet to see if any rewards appears detracts from this experience.
it’s simply a joke, why the hell you have to be constantly on guard with your F Button to pick up your bag while you are fighting seriously :o
arena net’s logic humors me :>
i dont have anything to add but i agree
oh another one of these threads.
In the beta, this was asked for. the answer was basically “we’d like to but the way our code is setup we can’t”
they are also working on underlying code changes

I play a melee guardian. I am constantly moving, dodging, and teleporting around the battlefield.
Asking players to press the F key 5 times a second for four hours of WuvWuv is just idiotic.
There is no reason the loot shouldn’t appear in our inventory automatically.
I would definitely love to see this, but I can appreciate that it must be lower priority than things like invisible army, queue relief, etc.
I also seem to have major problems with my loot bags appearing where I was before I ever fired a shot in an encounter. I’ll often find a bag quite a ways down the path I entered a supply camp from even though the fight was at the opposite side of the camp and I fired no shots anywhere near where the bag sat. It’s almost like they spawn where I first switched weapons or something.
i am thief and i jump around and usualy i die after i kill some players in middle of zerg, so if i think about presing f to loot my bags i cant concentrate on killing… so i now have 120 badges with 1.7 k kills, i lose all my bags on battlefield, maybe to think about droping badges directly in inventory, i realy dont care about crap loot, that can stay in bag on ground, and if i shood not do that than i woud play some range class to stand aside and fire arrows and cast magic, warr, thief, guard i bet all miss a lot of badges
or to forget looting u can reward players based on their demage or kills after leaving wvw or every hour… idk just sugestion, and i hate mobs in wvw, make them invunerable, so ppl stop kill them in front spawn hehe and remove resorces from wvw map ppl just came to wvw to farm gold ore and half of my guild have que
i think the most annoying part of the F button spam to get bags as quick as possible.
is when you are fighting near open siege… NPC’s that love to chat…. and items that you REALLY didn’t want to pick up…..
Loot either needs to be automatic upon walking over the bags (if they still cant get them to go directly to inventory)…. or change the loot button to something completely different than the interact button… ughhhh
it is better whan your inv is full… i love that..
if u change loot button make it f12 please
At the VERY least make the badges auto loot…

I swear, sometimes they don’t spawn. Other times they spawn under the ground so all you can see are the sparkles. There are also times when you just don’t have time to grab them and if you do try to grab them you’re going to get yourself killed.
It’s a very flawed system.
If they have a problem sending the loot straight to our bags then the very least they can do is:
1. Color the bags so that they’re more noticeable, having them brown basically makes it blend into the ground 99% of the time, have to hold ctrl down to even notice there’s loot around most times.
2. Increase the size of the bag, it’s much easier seeing a dead corpse that needs looting in pve, no so much in pvp especially when there’s a greater focus on battles and can very easily get lost and shift areas while fighting.
3. Mark the mini-map where loot bags have been dropped.

I like how Xenesis thinks, trying to work within the limitations to maybe get us some quicker fixes than we could otherwise get. I support any of your ideas that are easy to implement. Hot pink, giant loot bags for everyone!
I’m not seeing the big deal. If you are about to kill someone, or think someone you hit might be dieing soon, just hit your pickup button. Get a bunch of decent-sized inventory bags, turn on autopickup everything and have at it. Only annoying if you are on the run and a bag drops but that is just a backwards roll away. Plus calling to your guild that you are running back in for your bags is always exciting, you never know if you are gonna make it out alive.
If they can’t make the bags go directly to our inventory…can they make them go directly to a chest somewhere?
I don’t think they could have bags go right into your inventory simply due to the issues that would happen when your bag is full. What happens then? It just disappears?
I kind of like that right now you have to weigh sometimes if it’s worth picking them up or continuing on to keep your momentum.
Though I do agree that the Honor badges should auto-loot, since it’s essentially a currency much like Glory, Karma, etc.

i would like to see this added as well

They should have them stack like the supply bags you get while out questing, then at your own leisure you can open the bags.. That way inventory space shouldn’t be a problem as they would take up only a couple slots at max until you decide to start opening them.
i agree with rizalee, make the badges auto-loot but other loot appear i bags, i can live w/ that
How about assigning currency to player-kills in WvW. Why in the nine hells does anyone think collectibles that are account-bound are a better idea than an account-wide currency?
If changes are made, and some need to happen, basing it on kills or pure damage is the wrong way to go.
You could get Autohotkey, bind your F-key to Numpad 7 or something random, and then make the script press Numpad 7 every time you attack. That way you just attack to loot. Problem solved! lol…………….
Inventory management is just something you may have to learn.
Make it easy on the developers and buy more bag slots.
Isn’t there a setting that allows an auto loot pickup? I thought I saw one when i was tooling around through the settings.

Would love to vote for the bag to go in my inventory instantly or mailed to me upon leaving WvW. When you’re moving to take something and you kill a player and need to keep going, you lose track of your bags. Missing out on the rewards but you can’t miss the repair bills.

I see some people still do not understand this problem. Let me explain.
When you run at full speed + buffs, chasing an enemy, or escaping, there is no time to pick it up even if you notice in time that a loot bag spawned. Do I have to spell out how bad it is in a WvW setting to have to turn around and run back to get a loot bag? Even if there is no enemy, your turning around may trigger a herd response and many of your allies turn around with you or get generally confused about directions! Yes it happens!
What is this guy doing? Is he turning around to charge the enemy? Is he picking a new target? Is he running away? Nope! He’s only running back to get a lootbag!
In addition, the problem is increased by the same thing that causes invisible zergs. The loot bag model tends to appear a split second too late to pick it up while running. This means if you’re focused at chasing an enemy, you will loose many bags.
Now that’s not even the worst of it yet. Currently we have the worst possible interaction implementation – the single key F. For everything. Yep. For looting as well as for rezzing. It’s bad enough in PvE, but in PvP it’s just ridiculous. Try to loot that badge before the enemy zerg wipes you? Nice try mate! You will start rezzing the ranger pet, get locked in it for at least 2 seconds before you can get off, and you die, ending up with no loot, no badges, and broken equipment
Awful, awful implementation, I don’t know who thought of this, but he clearly never played any fast paced PvP :S The loot bags should only appear, if you have no room left in the bags. However, badges should not count as items, but a sort of currency, and always be awarded.

Just have the bags spawn at the waypoint and remove the despawn timer. Most people die every now and then and can just pick them up as they respawn.
The thing with spawning at your feet, as other people have mentioned, is that there is a fairly significant delay (at least half a second). In a game that ENCOURAGES movement…that just doesn’t work. Far too often I am dodging away in the time it takes for the bag to spawn…so I see the bag a dodge roll away from me…typically in the direction of the enemy so I either A. Lose the bag or B. Have to be make a “suicide” run, hoping I don’t do, while spamming f so I can pick up the loot. It’s just screwed up.
I wouldn’t mind as much if I knew that badges were auto-looted…the rest of the stuff is usually junk…but I HATE thinking “Oh that bag might have 2 badges!” and then I try to suicide run for it…typically to just find out it has “1 claw” or some other trash loot.
So ya…in short…spamming f never really works for me because I’m constantly in motion and by the time the bag spawns I’m already away from where I was when it was “Spawning”, forcing me to run back to get it. That is just messed up. This should have been fixed LONG ago…like before the game was released. No excuse.
+1 this one.
Strangely enough I recall some challenges in GW1 where the important item(Sunspear armor) appeared in your bags.
I just want to notice that in Warhammer Online in RvR battles, all loot was directed right in your bags especially tokens etc. Everything was good and right. It seems ANet need need time to learn things that was learned a lot time ago by other developers. Sadly. I ANet want to do another succesful mmrpg with nice mass pvp battles, they shoud look at good features from previous games like DAoC and WHO. I think they didn’t good looking to these games – “Nah we are doing something own and we know better what we do than previous developers” :\
I agree with OP
I don’t know how many bags I have missed because of this.
seriously…
autopick on badges ? well… ok – but the idea is acceptable only when it comes to badges. Seriously I like it this way. As for the rest of loot… are you people serious? Soon enough we’ll start saying it’s a hassle to finish a downed player and that it should be removed as well. Later we’ll ask for more waypoint on the map cuz it’s a hassle to run each time you die. Bags with loot need to stay – the one picking them up is the winner. If you’re in a zerg rush killing anything that moves without taking a pause – I think u’re playing this wrong. It’s already an improvement that the bags spawn under your feet – before that archers had to go and pick em up where they killed their enemies.
Ive noticed that if I go to sell in the Black Trader Market that the loot bags sell for more than the stuff inside them usually
Instead of having the bags drop at all why not just have them go to an NPC that you can visit when you aren’t busy you know, playing the objective. I dunno get creative. Even have an email when your WvW bank is full. But the idea of having these bags drop and not go directly to something is pretty annoying. lol Maybe have a map wide AoE pickup for these thing that way you only need to hit F once. Like I said get creative, but leaving it as is I don’t think is a good option anymore.
