This would do it, 1 t2 server would most likely implode. Hopefully it will be a 6 week season. 8 and 9 was too long, but 4 was too short.

Unlikely. The season tournaments would bring out queues in Silver for the T2.5 server (whichever it may be) to fight. Think back when FA got shafted in Silver. That means less chance for which ever server that may be, to implode. It could very well be the saving grace for WvW right now for 3, maybe 4 tiers.

1. It’ll help T1 out with the stale matchups
2. It’ll help T2 out by effectively locking out T2 and T3 and removing the current situation extremely effectively
3. It’ll help T3 out as the server that gets knocked down destacks as guilds transfer back up
4. It’ll help T3 and under out with an influx of new players into WvW

In essence, if season 3 can be replicated but without achievements that can be done in 5 minutes in EoTM, it would help out a lot of servers right now

guess what the the non- wvw players did during season 3, they went to eotm for 5 mins and were done for the week.

The players you’re referring to, come in, check the achievements list that they need to check off, and go about doing it. 3 seasons of being in silver tell me that you’ll have AP farmers who come in briefly and leave. In the past, they haven’t joined the militia zergs with the pugmanders, or the guilds, or expressed any interest in learning how to contribute to WvW.

I don’t post on forum because I consider myself under experienced compared to most. But, I have been wvw’ing for months & have to agree with Hamster. I gave up about a week ago for the most part. Why enter wvw when you are getting continuously stomped. Thinking about changing my avatar name to “Road Kill” I want to help my server, but it feels as though all my efforts are for naught atm. Why get disillusioned in a game-I can get that in real life. I have invested a lot of time in wvw. Nothing, I imagine compared to most of you, but I have almost reached Pug Rank 900 (I don’t mind being a pug). Hopefully, this state of affairs will straighten out in the near future-my hopes are for sooner rather than later. And loyalty is a big factor for me.

Really, predicting the effect of Seasons on server populations is like trying to predict the Stock Market – a futile endeavor where your guess is as bad as mine.

If history is any guide, last Season’s bandwagoning completely upended what had been the most balanced, varied, and enjoyable fights amongs six relatively competitive servers in T3 and T4 – at one point only 40 glicko points separated the spread from top and bottom servers. In fact, last Season and its aftermath arguably precipitated the current fiasco in T3.

Until the underlying WvW mechanics that reward bandwagoning and coverage are addressed, all these non-systematic “solutions” simply rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic.

PPK was out not so long ago, a number of people enjoyed this and were excited by this which made fights interesting. Anet should be developing these ideas more which can bring back players if given the hype, unfortunately it was mainly JQ and TC that participated this time round.

Instead of playing for tournament mist forge skins. Come and join the other servers fighting right now.

You currently have 4 tier 2 servers. A tournament would lock one of them in Silver and demolish it. No fun for the one demolishing and no fun for anyone else.

BEAR didn’t get bought. It says BG in quoted sig. Also, it says BG in Revs sign. Also, OP could have well been from any of the top 7 servers, at least top 3. Sounds like guilds transferred off your server and you are still upset they didn’t want anything to do with you anymore.

The problem with destacking and implosion is.. where are they gunna go if they decide they’ve imploded? Theres nowhere left. T2 is the only real tier for competition. T1 is a choice but they probably wouldn’t handle it too well, they like artificial balance that they can control. Everyone backing their dark horse is what got us here. Aren’t many horses left in the race.

Hopefully the week before the announcement that there will be a tournament, transfers up get locked. That way, instead of a short (tournament length) time of excitement and subsequent months of despair and turmoil, it’ll be the other way around – the effects on servers in the wake of the tournaments have been horrible to go through, although the variety in matchups during have been interesting at least.

And they should stay locked. If you want to go up, earn it by playing and not by paying.

S4 may have been pushed back another 4 weeks. It certainly wont be just 4 weeks, because 4 weeks is way too shoort and 9 weeks toooo long.

6week Season 4 would be just right imo.

I’m for it as long as there are free transfers again.

1. Yes except they will have faceroll boring matchups instead.

2. Yes but the one T2 server that gets left out is screwed.

3. No. Because at this point it looks like it’ll either be SoS or DB that gets sent down to Silver. And the only people who will move off either of them are the very people who don’t need to move off – the NA people.

SoS Ocx and DB Sea will never leave even if they are thrown into the depths of hell.

So the tourney will be even more boring for T3 because even if the NA timezone is somewhat balanced that one single timezone of SoS or DB will ruin it for everyone.

Although it would be better than having FA or YB in Silver.

Having said that, I am in favor of a tournament. Variety is better than boredom even if the variety is of the faceroll type. And its only a few weeks.

Let’s review NA seasons:

Season 1 was buy guilds to win and also boring matches.
Season 2 was matchfix to win and the HoD bandwagon (free transfers) which imploded right after the season was over.
Season 3 was a shorter version of season 1.

Each season had transfers before the start that left some servers in tiers they shouldn’t have been in.

And you want Season 4???

As someone who has played on one server for all 3 seasons and watched that server get royally screwed each time by various things. Seasons, tournaments w/e the heck they want to call this stupid gimmick that should never have been put in, all this does is encourage bandwagoning, server stacking, server instability, match manipulation, and tons of other shady tactics used to win, spying, double teaming, intentional dropping etc. Not to mention Anets role in this, especially with that disaster in season 2 and the idiotic choice of tranfer fee changes, some servers got free transfer effectively encouraging bandwagoning and server stacking and the inevitable implosion and instability at the end. Some servers like the one I was on that desperately needed new people to stabilize and rebuild because of a mass exodus that happened right before season 2 got inflated transfer prices and we were locked in silver where we could not compete and could not bring anyone in because it was to expensive for them and not worth it, because we just placed last every week in unbalanced matchups for 9 long weeks, another exodus followed after that. Season 3 we basically fought the same servers 3 out of 4 weeks dealt with lots of blobbing and double teaming and people got burned out trying to win and eventually stopped caring, another exodus happened. Oh and lets not forget season 1 the worst of the worst, there was no low people did not sink to, and so many people including myself got burned out on wvw and just disgusted by how people acted, that started the first exodus on my last server, most of the wvw guilds went and stacked on other servers mainly back on t1, heck some left during the season, there was so much drama and server instability caused.

So yea seasons have a good history of screwing over a lot of servers and guilds, it was painful to watch. I think the only way for anet to make it less painful is to make it as meaningless as possible.

SoR got stuck at bottom of Silver and HoD at top of Silver. If SoR hadn’t rolled constant T3 matches and given most of it’s rating to DB instead of being able to spread the rating out to tiers 4-6, pre-season 2 would not have been characterized by four T2 servers vying for three T2 spots.

I’m pretty sure TC helped facilitate several guilds transfer costs as well, so it is pretty stupid to be crying about anyone else doing it. You obviously don’t seem to know a whole lot outside your little world so I shouldn’t expect much.

I could feel your pain. I just recently changed server to FA for world completion for my legendary. and it’s a massacre in eb, spawn camping, ktrain 24/7. i could do solo roaming in BL and didn’t see one enemy for hours. the matchup is insanely imbalanced. I truly recommend you switch to a more populated server, at least it will be more fun.

TY, neptunechild for acknowledging my comment. They say “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over & expecting a different result”. I don’t think anyone on T3 is expecting a different result. They are just trying to keep their heads above water. The sad part of this 10 week+ fiasco is that this is falling on the few guilds that are left. Great guilds, but how long can they continue under these circumstances? I don’t really know a lot about the politics of WVW-and from threads & comments-I really don’t want to know. But, I have friends and acquaintances on IOJ that I feel a connections to and really don’t want to leave. I bought another account on the discount week-end, rapidly leveled a toon and went to a lower server to WVW. (I am not a fan of PVE). But, it’s just not the same for me. I imagine I will leave my main account on my home server until the situation changes or my home server implodes.

Help current NA gold’s situation by:

Not moving to already stacked servers. If you’re on a lower tier then stay where you are and entice people to join lower tiers. Somebody will have to take the first step, but once that step it taken the burden will decrease and others will be more willing to help out. There are plenty of NA guilds out there jumping around- convince them to be the guild that makes the first impact.

If SoS barely has any Ocx left that is good news. How are they able to keep up with T2 though? Do they have EU or is their NA that big?

Actually this week they aren’t keeping up so maybe they will be the one’s who fall. I’m on a T3/4 server and I’d much rather face SoS than any of the other T2’s. Plus we have a history and I haven’t seen them in awhile.

I dunno I remember the guild leader of bear bragging the guild had at least 20k gold banked while two server TC and BG were fighting to buy them.

As for T1, if those servers are bored maybe they need to stop match fixing and go all out every week, they’ve put themselves in a position that no T2 servers can reach them. Certain guilds have already left them because of that kitten that’s been going on.

For SoS, the main ocx left after season 3, Bear TS and whatever pugs followed them, we just lost another guild serving between ocx/sea time. EU was always the weakest zone, the strongest timezone now is NA and even then it can’t keep up with T2 anymore. The amount of former SoS guilds/players I see on YB FA DB now is quite sad, followed the gold or the bandwagon, whichever whatever.
