Now please correct me if I’m late to this party but, what is the deal with people hiding under the cliffs so they get invulnerability in WvW?

I don’t play WvW too often and just recently started getting into it this week. Tonight I noticed a lot of cowardly Eredon Terrace players that would retreat to the safety of the invulnerable cliffs and just hide there.

Why do they get invulnerability under the cliffs? Is it because those cliffs are technically still in their “safe zone” or whatever? If so, that is a horrible design flaw and should be fixed immediately because they were able to just camp and shoot at us with ranged and AoE while we were helpless to do anything.

If any Eredon Terrace players are reading this: srsly guys? Why WvW at all if that’s all you’re gonna do…

You’re not exactly helpless if you’re able to camp their spawn. The invulnerable zone doesn’t, to my knowledge, allow them to seriously threaten anything.

Like previous poster said: if you’re camping their spawn you are in the advantage and invulnerability gives you a tip to go do something else or change borderlands as you roll over this one.

There’s a couple specific situations I’ve had where the spawn invulnerability can be abused like sieging up right outside spawn at the citiadels on the borderlands to take the towers. Especially the west tower. When the only way to kill the siege they set up is to suicide run up a cliff past invincible defenders spamming you it’s a little lame.

Your realm doesn’t get anything from attacking the citadel. If your enemies want to siege up on the cliffs of their citadel let them and laugh at them from afar while you drink tea and enjoy points ticking towards victory.

nah, you don’t seem to understand. If you take the northernmost towers the defenders can put up siege on the cliffs immediately outside their spawn to knock down your gate/walls and stand safely inside the invulnerability safe zone to defend them. Your team literally has to suicide rush up a cliff while getting spammed by AoEs from invincible defenders to take out the siege.

Don’t tell anyone about our secret cave in one of the borderlands!

when atacking the towers at citadelle, you dont atack the door directly , you use catas from the side. i never understand why people even try to go on the door at those towers.

Ah now I see what you mean.

I think, he means the bottom supplycamps in borderlands.
Both Lodge and Lowlands got these spots far back at the cliffs where you get invulnerable.
Getting overrun at a supply camp? Just run back to the cliffs where they can’t touch you, wait till they are gone and recap it.
Honestly, you should be able to burst them down before they get this far but thats another story. Yes. It is annoying at the lodge. On the village, it doesn’t matter, cause it’s only a small hop from the spawn regardless(the exploiting player would basically stand below a cliff which he can reach from his spawn anyway), I dunno about the other supply camp, but I think, it’s possible there too.
