What started out as a team building evening for us Eternal Invictus [INVI]lads, how our Veggie would describe us: bunch a testosterone filled drama queens, got a little twist. 1h before the event our guild member suggested: LETS ALL GO PINK! HOT PINK!! And we all went pink into Elona Reach [DE] bl! Soon enough I popped my tag and the rule was if you wanna fallow INVI you gotta be in hot pink dye (which i provide if you send me a mail)! Soon enough we got trolled and got called not manly and gay. So we made another twist! For the support of our LGBT brothers and sisters, we made a hot pink dye movement! I challenged everybody on the borderland to go pink and I will provide the dye. In the matter of moments people whispered me and started sending me mails that they wanna support the movement, and want the dye! In the amount of 3 hours over 50 dies were handed over to people by me and many more were provided by the members of the other guilds. Soon enough the manly Vikings of Thousand Lakes Alliance [TLA] were pink, and wicked people Candy Shop [CS] were pink!

Bottom line, it is nice that the majority of the community of WvW is still healthy, besides your random warriors!

So yeah guys I will quote Macklemore and say: I might not be the same, but that’s not important, no freedom till we’re equal, kitten right we support it!

So yeah guys I challenge you overly manly gamers out there dye yourself in hot pink dye!

I am usually coloured red in Desolation WvW, as another Tier 1 opponent runs over my face.But whatever lifts the spirits has to be a good thing for us.

ARM invented pink. It was the color he thought of when anet nerfed elementalists into the ground.

The more I think about this Pink Dye Movement, the more I like it. It’s time gamers in general stood up against homophobia, racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, and other prejudices being espoused by users who feel secure in spreading hateful language. I’m sure all of us have been exposed to the offensive chat comment that goes unchallenged. Like Youtube comments, some players feel their anonymity allows them to say things they never would in public. I’m not talking about the odd silly remark made by a bored 15-year-old looking for a reaction, I’m talking about very pointed, hateful statements that occasionally happen in game.

About 12 months ago a norn warrior started recruiting outside CoF for a Neo The movement Hilter started which the forum won’t let me write guild he was founding. At first I thought he was just being outrageous and incendiary, but when I questioned him about it in /whisper I realized he was 100% serious and very much a beliver in Hitler’s worldview about non-white races. I moved the conversation to /say so everyone would be witness to what he was saying. After he found out I was jewish things got very heated. I won’t repeat his hateful words, but it was chilling to find such views being expressed in what many of us consider a safe space. I reported him for “verbal abuse” but it didn’t feel like the appropriate term. I think Anet needs to include a report category like other games have which clearly states “Prejudicial Language/Hate Speech”. In a game where typing the word “Kitten” is not allowed, we should be able to properly report people who use derogatory language.

I also applaud the OP and the hot pink movement! More fun events that promote tolerance will probably help even more than a new report category. So good work.

I approve! Im known in HoD for commanding in bright pink. Kinda wear it all the time! Been loving the pink, my party rules in WvW must wear pink! Love it GJ man, ill load my pink self later… dont forget the mini pink moas! Check my sig and copy if you support.

I regret having real life because I missed Hot Pink Friday Loving the idea tho! Hopefully, we could make it a tradition.

Hot pink dye dropped for me 1 or 2 days ago. Lol.

We had our Necros wear pink in WvW one night because everyone knows real Necros wear pink.

Anet has done special dyes in the past for causes (GW1 Pink dye for breast cancer awareness month). I’m sure they’d be agreeable to having some dyes available for gems where proceeds go to a specific cause.

Borlis Pass did this before it was cool. I will gladly challenge your Pink Zerg with our Pink Zerg. :P
