Since the nerf to Tornado + meteor shower was announced and Lich + wells most likely to follow, smaller groups are going to have a much harder time taking on groups a lot bigger then them.

I am hoping that said nerfs will not affect combat to such a degree, but then again I know how much most groups rely on this extra oomph when their melee train is 2-3 times smaller.

This may sound pessimistic, and is definitely hypothetical, but these nerfs combined with the siege disabler seems like a pretty huge buff the the zerg. I hope it isnt the case, and of course the feature pack has not come yet so there is no real way to tell.

I guess my real worry isnt over the nerfs so much as prompt response to the numbers gap in wvw. I’m not talking about free transfers, aoe cap, or anything else like that. I’m talking about real time combat between two forces of greatly differing sizes. If for some reason it does turn out that after the feature pack that said combat is no longer viable, and its a zerg or bust situation, I wouldnt be surprised to see a significant drop of players over the coming months.

Although the power buffs from tornado + lich were unintentional, they did add a great mechanic that many people make use of to help even the odds. I guess that about sums it up, and I hope all my worry is for nothing.

The current meta has zerg leaders getting hammered with corrupts. I doubt that will change with upcoming patch.

Maybe with each future balance patch, we’ll see the meta slowly shift from GWEN to just GW… Yeah, sounds about right!

I seriously doubt that Necros are due for a nerf anytime soon. They’re lower tier sPvP and that’s where balancing is centered around.

That is the old style (Hammer Train) prior to GWEN. Ranged pressure is the new meta and nerfs/tweaks aren’t going to change it much.

Yes its indicative of the fact that they really don’t know what they’re doing with balance or just don’t care about WvW.

You do realize both sides used meteornado right? Both sides are now going to do less damage rather then just the smaller zerg. So it is really just a neutral fix.

no way! unbelievable! i dont even!

Meteornado was more for killing siege faster or seeing big numbers pop out of the noobs you just stomped than a serious game-changing move. If I ever popped nado against a competent gank squad I would be immob’d on a black powder in about a nanosecond.

Lich form has much better things to contribute than just boosting a well of suffering. If you coordinate it properly grim specter will get you 5 kills easily.

There’s the nifty utilities called Null Field and Well of Corruption. You should look into them.

Have you ever seen ranger who actually know what their skills do?

The new meta is going to be a bunch of mesmers stacking so it looks like one Mesmer, and when the Zerg runs thinking it’s going to be a fair 1 vs 40 the mesmers uses their scepter auto attack and makes a million clones and torments the Zerg to death that’s running towards them. It’s gonna just be like the scene from 300 with the rhino that’s charging towards the one guy and the rhino dies right in front of him.

How are we going to wipe zergs post patch?

Groups of nomad guardians with zerk mesmers and condi necros for support.
With warriors running interferance and causing chaos. :P

True but the zerg isnt nearly as coordinated, so in my eyes the scales were tipped slightly towards the smaller group. What good are meteornado + power wells without flurry / chill / static?

What kind of nonsense are you spitting out! Only thing a true ranger needs to know is how to equip a longbow and use #4 when ever it comes out of cooldown.
