I’m a mesmer.

I have full Sentinel armor and weapons (Vitality, Power, Toughness). My trinkets are Condition Damage, Toughness, Vitality, and Precision.

This survivability served me well as a front-line veil whor… um… lady-of-the-night… for zergs.

Now that I have great survivability I want to focus on DPS gear to mix in as needed.

I’ve never optimized for DPS. What should I be looking for?

I hear condition damage is all the rage and it would match my trinkets. Perhaps Rampager/Sinister (Precision, Power, Condition Damage)?

Or maybe Berserker/Assasin (Power, Precision, Ferocity)?

Do some of these DPS stats compliment each other?

My end goal is to join small roaming groups and be able to fight effectively.

Technically Viper do more damage than Trailblazer.

Go full zerk + pack runes for power shatter or mix rabid + trailblazer with perplexity runes for condi. There’s no need to build much tanky stats for small scale skirmishes. The idea is to kill them before they kill you. Chrono have a lot of innate survival built in (sword/shield aegis and evade, F4 shatter, stealths like decoy etc.) so you don’t actually need to build it into your armor.

I really want to help op but I feel like were all being trolled here. This isn’t the sub forum you should be asking for advice on mesmers in. Go to the mesmer sub forum at least.

OP you sound so beginner level in your knowledge of the class you are playing let alone basic mechanics of the game, Mesmer sub forum is a good place to start.

Probably. Any non-boonshare or zerg build mesmer not building full glass is definitely troll.

Most mesmers I encounter in small WvW skirmishes are either condi or some form of power shatter/mild lock down builds.

If you get focused in a fight on a relatively squishy mesmer build; power.. it’s not fun. From my experience I had quite the amusing time running full dire condi mesmer. It has the tank stats to survive but also whittles down your enemies due to condi stats in general being overwhelming for the most part.

I am also considering making a set of the new HoT stats… I think it is expertise? I’m not too sure, but it is more glass but should allow my conditions to last wayyyy longer.

Sometimes its not all about doing more damage but outlasting or playing smarter and countering your opponents. Think outside the box.

Drop double feedback and double wells, use arrow carts, mortars and cannons. You make lot’s of dmg.

Indeed, but most condimesmers don’t have the skill level for glass, which is usually why they are condi to begin with. Hence Trailblazer or Dire is more common.

The most common roaming / dueling builds for mesmer are condition based, so you would want Trailblazer gear (fill with Dire) with Undead runes.

Alternatively, a lot of people still like to run a power shatter / mantra build, which would want Marauder gear (fill with Berserker) with Scholar, Pack, or Strength runes.

I believe the answer you’re looking for is “git gud.”

Run trailblazer/rabid etc condi stuff, spread the aids, watch your chat getting purple from the spam and proceed to brag about your button spam. Or go full yolo power, tryhard your kitten off and have a bit of fun even if u die a lot.

But running as a veil bot in zergs is way too boring.
