Q:
How did you find the Rev in Wvw?
Terrible.
Horribad.
I didnt play one just fought against them, they’re overall just horribad. Someone told me on TS that their damage line is not fully implimented yet, so that might change, but for now, just bad.
BTW I had same experience with them in SPVP while solo quing, got to the point where I just dont want any revenant on my team, but I do want them on opponents teams.
Capable of doing a lot of hurt IMO
You’re literally the only person I have seen say anything like this.
Awfull. I tried a PVT replacement to a Guardian in the party and it sucks so bad with a hammer. You got some fancy skills and stability sure, but your damage is non existant even though its supposed to be 1200 range AoE. Its like trying to use a Mesmer staff in a zerg. Like 1 out of 20 autoattacks connects, the rest just vanish.
When I found roaming enemy revenants, they didnt stand a chance.
Troll-worthy but mostly underwhelming.
You’re the stability kid dishing out free perm stab faster than tossing out free candy. Some utility skills are to the extent of being spam able… That teleport skill, unyielding anguish, is pure troll time for the enemy, if used correctly, you can split zergs but you’re best off geared in PVT because you’ll drop like a fly so fast.
I don’t like the heals either.. Maybe I’m just not used to switching the legends yet.
tried pvt hammer, dire mace axe, even staff ALL ARE VERY UNDERWHELMING, may it be the traits or the UNCUSTOMIZABLE utility skills, so far revenant = TERRIBAD. whether wvw or pve, i havent played it on pvp but i’m sure its not that good either, lack of customization is just no way good.
Revenant was good at first sight but actually playing it outside of the Verdant Brink, i found way too many bads about it that unless somethign drastic changes comes with the other legendaries that haven’t come out yet or the specialization, i might not even make a revenant when HoT comes out, since it felt so clunky and 2nd rate.

the UNCUSTOMIZABLE utility skills
My guess on this is that the fully released class is going to have more utility skills per legend. I just can’t see them adding a few more legends without more utility skills for current legends to customize builds and calling this done. It would be too predictable to enemy. Of course I could also be wrong.
The class felt extremely unfinished. There seemed to be very few defensive options. One was forced to always trait into Invocation to pick up the stun break on legend swap because the other skills were just too slow to cast very often. Like the dwarf elite supposedly is a stun break but the long, interruptible cast time made it terrible for that. I mean, stun breaks are supposed to help you do things like break out of a knockback or launch. You just can’t do that with the dwarf elite before you get launched into the void in a map like EOTM.

Want to add, there’s something very weird about how the class has poor access to swiftness when it can channel a CENTAUR! Everyone seems to be able to run faster than a centaur…

I found most of the revs I saw on the ground
Mediocre at best.
Well people are still learning the new class and trying different builds, so it’s really hard to say if the revenant is even good or not.
After a few days of fighting revs, they seem to die fast
depends, the profession is clearly unfinished and I personally am not a theory crafter, so I did quite bad with it. But on the other hand I’ve seen other people who are theorycrafters, who do know what they’re doing do quite well with it.
It could be interesting with some tweaks. Tried Soldier’s, Rampager, Beserker, and the Celestial gear, and didn’t feel strong in any of them.
They need more utilities per legend. 5 is too few, perhaps 7 would be better.
Weapons seem to have super long animation for what you get.
Jalis elite is not good. Too long of a cast for the reward.
Staff is just downright weak. Major tweaks needed.
Mobility is poo atm.
Managing CDs, energy, and cast times seems to be burdensome to me.
Need more synergy in trait lines.
I didn’t expect to pick it up and feel strong right away, but honestly, I kind of felt a bit helpless. Hoping when we get to try them again they are more complete.
Playing rev in wvw was like playing my lvl 7 thief. Wait, I could actually kill stuff with my lowbie thief :/
The class will be fun one day, well, if anet gives revs some dps.
Extremely good support class with Staff and Cleric gear, but bad for everything else (for now).
Make WvW Eventful! – WvW, 4 years in
Yes, I have 5 lv 80 mesmers – Funny Puns
Saw alot less these days.
My views have changed. I agree if played well theres some potential , has support, but is currently lack luster
Most fun I’ve had in 6+ months of WvWing. It really isn’t that hard to play it, I farmed almost 1k kills pretty quick on it, and it’s something new.

Interesting mechanic,i quite liked it,thou had trouble surviving 1v1 with hammer in power build.Guess one has to keep trying to find the sweet spot in dps/survival in that one,and adjust the play bit more to it.Am looking forwards to that class.Dunno if ppl tryed mace/axe power build, but that one clearly sucked a lot,dps wise. But abilites were cool, just the numbers werent satisfying.
Also loved that demon aoe util, which ports enemies around “ignored stabil”,that one i loved most i would say.Dwarf chain looked promising too,but couldnt make it work to be honest.
I found him mediocre, mallyx was fun enough thematically and I like the idea of using condi’s against your enemies but wow, the whole legend is just underwhelming, mallyx desperately needs more access to damaging conditions, the pitiful amount of torment he gets is just nothing, and keep in mind I think I’m a “pro-revenant” I’m not trying to come off as stuck-up, but I’ve been crazy into revenant and had formulated a build and gear set before the beta even hit, and had visualized the best way to play a revenant. And wow it was underwhelming, hopefully shiro can help make up for it but imo mallyx needs some serious buffs to condition damage
