I made a thread in the Suggestion forum, which I will also pop here.
But there is a designed limit on how many Siege weapons can be in the same area at the same time.
Originally I thought about how it would be if a group of players could coordinate siege building, to layout a wall of rams, to guard the ranged siege weapons out in the middle of a field.
This would create a mini base of sorts. But of course requires time, currency, and coordination to make such a thing.
but the limit in sieges per area, destroys this idea.
But what if such a strategy was possible. How would the ability for a world, to build a mini base on the map, change the way we fight?
Would the WvW battles get more fun, or less fun?

here is my idea for this

========
I had an idea for WvW. it comes from an idea of making a base in the field using Siege weapons. but I discovered there is a limit in the game that prevents this.
So I figured a better idea would be to simply have a build-able base in the game.
it functions as a mini keep that players can place at a location. requires lots of resources to build.
it features:
*2 Floors for combat with walls and gate of its own. Basecamp also has its own floor to make it easier on terrain.
*1 Structural siege weapon slot of choice.
*1 Boss Champion patrol guard
*2 Random Class generated Champion Guards (Guardian/Warrior/Mesmer/Ranger/Thief/Elementalist/ Engineer/Necro/Monk)
*Upgrades
Some upgrades that can be applied to the Basecamp:
*Repair, Banker and Merchants
*Time Warp Waypoint – this is a way point that has a cap limit of 5 uses within every hour. so 5 different players can use it within the time limit before it reset.
*Scouting Blimp Launcher- this is a device that can launch from the base. cost resources to make. as well as resources to use. it moves from location of user’s choice and can display enemy and allies in that area. also can drop down AoE blast bombs in that area.
