How do you enjoy WvW when it is bugged!?
it’s something called “culling”. basically servers cannot handle all the data being moved to and from clients (us), so some data is “culled” when there are a lot of players on the screen. unfortunately Anet has decided that cosmetics are more important than our enjoyment of the game, so the data that’s culled happens to be player models. when enough time has passed, the server gets around to passing us the data and finally allowing our PCs to render enemy player models, by which time we’re usually dead because we were standing in the middle of a whole army.
if only they’d give everyone a generic appearance and have generic models for weapons (enough for us to tell what class and weapon configuration we’re fighting), there’d be so much less useless data to transfer. Anet did try a version of culling which worked somewhat, but they decided to revert to the one you see now despite the players telling them not to. as i’ve said many, many times, Anet can have great ideas but that’s all wasted by poor planning and execution.
I see, well.. this pretty much ruins the whole WvW for me. Which ruins my monthly, which takes away 40k karma from me! Ugh!!
You already got dozens of kills in WvW obviously if you only needed 2 more…..I don’t see how your monthly is ruined if you only need 2 more, and have already gotten that many kills despite culling….
That´s not culling if there´s only ~10 players
Culling only steps in when there´s considerable amounts of people, 20-40 on each side and it starts to appear.
But client sometimes really is slow on rendering players that suddenly appear from portals or stealth etc.
Though what i gathered from op that´s not the case, as it only takes a second or two to render players even when they pop out of stealth. What might be the case could simply be slow connection or low end computer.

It is not the normal thing in WvW, at least for me. The only time I have problems/issues seeing enemy players is when there are too many in one area, that is a zerg fighting a zerg. The best thing to do in that situation is to change your graphics settings to ’best-performance" versus auto-detect or best appearance. The wife and myself both play together as well and we are on a slower rural connection and not high speed dsl or cable.
We do however run higher-end machines with two graphics cards in SLI mode plus an additional physx card
Another thing to check if you are playing through the same router is set up different ports for both you and your husband or check to see if your ISP is throttling your bandwidth.
For me, no matter where I was in the wvw, I could not see anyone but my husband.

Well, after this post I was informed that 15 invader kills was only first tier (sorry, new to the game and all, didn’t know). 12, is one dozen. I got the first dozen my first game and it was not so bad then, really, just low FPS but I could see people.
I can’t even get one kill. TBH I think its been bugged for me since last patch.
Step 1: go to keep/tower under attack
Step 2: build arrow cart
Step 3: spam 1-2-3 to tag as many players as possible (siege damage-apart from golem-is from what i see static, so if you’re not 80 in rare+ gear this is the easiest way
Step 4: ???
Step 5: profit
My monthly is equally ruined by the fractals requirement.
