I’ve already played through the PvE portion of the game and am embarking in Wv3 a lot now. I’ve heard others say that they level up that way rather than playing through the storylines again.

So I started an elementalist, got him up to level 10, and entered Wv3… and was promptly slaughtered. I tried collecting the different points of interest and vistas, but they’re XP reward is scaled down to my level.

How do you level up in Wv3?

escort caravans, or run in a zerg and get xp for capping non stop. Thats really your only option as a low level as even most NPC’s will b a hard fight at that level.

Same way you level anywhere else, though your best bet would be manning siege and defending places likely. If you’re getting your butt kicked, maybe you shouldn’t be there yet or figuring out better siege placement.

join a guild and run with them and don’t focus on grinding out levels and exp, but rather focus on fighting helping your guild/group/server win battles and capture objective, and the exp will follow.

my social casual guild has had plenty of lowbie alt nights in which were effectiv ein contirbuting to the war effort in a meaningful way. it just takes some ingenuity and creativity.

most of all, don’t do it just for exp. do it for fun and epic battles. if you just focus on exp/levels it will be painful.

Join a dedicated WvW guild. You’ll see them advertising on the maps. Until then, look for a commander title on the map and follow the zerg.

You get a lot of exp from capturing keeps, towers, and supply camps and killing yaks. Defending what your server owns will also help you level. WvW is about groups so you won’t accomplish much running around on your own.

My ranger started WvW at level 21 and she hit 60 last night after ~ 2 weeks of playing a few hours in WvW each evening (mixed in with some Halloween events last week)

Last night in about an hour, she went from 58 to 60 just running in a zerg group. We made a large circuit of the map, taking every tower/supply camp/control point we could – we even capped it off by taking Garrison (which was a ton of experience in itself). It’s fun, and it’s great experience.

Like others said, don’t focus on leveling – it will drive you insane seeing how slowly the bar moves sometimes. Focus on helping your group or your guild take whatever objective they are taking. If you feel you are too squishy, stay behind the main lines and support your team with ranged attacks. Help defend keeps and towers your team already has in control. Every time you drive off an attack, you get experience. In fact, I think you get experience every 3 minutes that you hold off an attack, but don’t quote me on that – seems like I’ve seen it anyway.

You do, as long as you’re hitting attackers a reasonable amount in that 3 minute time period.

Low level eles are shark bait in WvW. Truth be told my ele didnt become dangerous until 80 with all exotics, and a good PvP set up.

Another thing you can do, I managed to get from level 53 to 55 doing this: Repair walls and build the siege equipment on the walls. I spent some time just fixing up everything on the east keep in borderlands and was making crazy xp. 45 xp per tic of repair, you get 5 of those for every 10 supply, you need to do this about 5 times to fully create pots of oil or cannons, thats what 1,100 xp for one pot?

Just be sure of 2 things, 1: Only pull from nearby supply camps for your supply or 2: If the keep has a full set of supplies and is getting caravans coming in often.

Well to be honest you’ll get almost 0 reward if you take this approach anyway as a level 80. Its a group aimed activity get a team… then try taking some points. A supply camp team running around taking things on the map is a lot of fun.. when your brave enough try an ungarded tower (:

if your really into it grab a guild, then you’ll start coordinating with other people and start taking keeps and if your lucky maybe the castle Stonemist. Sexy xp/karma/loots

At low level, manning siege is really where its at. During a major siege you can get quite a few kills (say 20 plus) and some decent loot, on top of the event of defending.

But to be helpful at lower level, run supplies, can scout, kill yaks, defend, man siege (trebs, mortars, cats are all good for this since usually no direct contact), help repair and build, watch the back while everyone auto attacks the gate.

And I have leveled a Ele mostly in WvW. Just be prepared to die often, just what Ele is about, especially at low levels. If repairs get to be to much, just go nude.

You dont, you level on PvE, get exotics then go to WvW, so you can actually be productive to your server.

The fastest XP in WvW is flipping supply camps, Sentry points, Towers, Keeps…

But you will never be able to do any of those without a group. If you are able to find a group to help you thats great, but you will be slowing them down too.

I grab one of my lowbies .. help besiege a tower .. claim it .. upgrade it .. pop up the guild buffs for Exp & whatever is in stock .. and do Slayer achievements around it – within the range of the buffs.
.. defend the tower if under attack .. and whine in the Team chat, when I´m under attack.

Join a Zerg (or start one) and just do that none stop. Get XP win/lose.

Isaac, if you don’t want to help, just don’t post. I am tired of these " I know it, but I won’t tell ya"-posts.
Btt.: As said by others before, don’t run around alone. Plus it’s pretty helpfull to join the TS, especially when you are a beginner. That way you learn a lot that might be of use for your coming WvW-career.

Since lack of orbs and more people learning to play it’s getting harder to find a fast capturing zerg.

Keeps are better upgraded & better siege equipped these days..

Join Ruin, play WvW everyday with the guild groups, 80 in 2 weeks.

Run with your guild.. hang more near the back and assist on other folks targets. Use staff in siege defenses to aoe lots of targets through doors and from the walls.
