Hello WvWer’s, what’s the best way to organize the parties within a squad? Should the heavies be together with the squishies and mediums in their own parties? Or should they be in ranged/close up parties?

What’s the best way to organize small squads (10-20 people) and larger ones. Thanks.

Mediums shouldn’t be in the squad.

You want a good boon distribution.

Generally a Rev and a guardian per party.

Other skills that are limited by players, like mesmer invis, try for 1 per party.

The goal is to take skills that would normally hit the 5 closest players and because the game will prioritize your party members over someone else close, you can share effects more evenly without overlap or people not covered by spreading these classes across parties.

Generally a Rev and a guardian per party.

This, plus 2 boon share mesmers in a party together. The way my guild does it is parties of 4 (to allow overflow) with guard/DH and revenant in each, necros and eles divided up with the guards and revenants, medium classes and warriors just where theres a spare spot.

Two guardians and a revenant per party, then necros and eles should get priority for the other 2 spots. If there’s spaces, mesmers and warriors. Medium classes are good at single target focus, so put them in parties together.

It depends what you have though. What people have said is the ideal, but if you’re organising a pug squad you’re likely to end up with more rangers than you have guardians and revs combined… :P

There’s really no right answer … it’s more about trying to maximise the squads potential. You will notice monster gains with a balanced squad setup. Teams should be set to achieve certain goals. If you have a couple frontline groups (Rev, Guard, guard, ele/engi water field, ‘x’ or boonshare mes), you can create parties like rev, guard, basilisk, condi, condi …

Things to consider, you don’t need 2 rev’s in a group running facet of nature/natural resonance… just 1.

A guard per group is okay, 2 guards is ideal to provide 2 large stabs, and 2 small stabs… especially when dealing with the heavy use of control effects (looking at you Mags).

It’s actually more beneficial to give your dmg dealers full might stacks versus the front line in my humble opinion. I find the most critical thing for front lines is access to stab and survivability fighting in super hot fields most the time. Also… my weak auto or might blow on a guard (sometimes I run greatsword, but only for the pull and grind) is pitiful compared to what backline professions can do for dmg.
