Guild Wars 2

Many times I have been manning an arrow cart or cannon then suddenly some other guy on our team comes along and takes over control of the equipment.
How does this happen? are they the original placers of the equipment (so they can kick me off)?

If they placed the siege, (they had the blueprint) then they “own” it. Only they can remove you from it. Otherwise, it’s whom ever jumped on it first.

Cannons, Mortars and Oil are NOT player owned. No one can kick you from these.

If they log/disconnect then they lose ownership rights to it btw
