How does the Defiant buff on the boss Supply Camp NPC work?
Pretty sure it is there to discourage trading camps back and forth rapidly for karma/cash/etc.
Thing is, big enough zerg of players can just burn the person down before the buff wears off anyway.
It’s on a 5 minute timer a believe and it’s to prevent trading camps for XP or whatever. Though I dont undersand why people always think this would be such a big issue. Good luck trading camps, most people are competitive and will come to those swords to kill whoever is there. I would.
Fwiw you can kill him still with condition damage.

Should be a 5 min buff put on right after camp is taken so a small group can’t just come in and recap. Although get a group of 5 with enough condition damage you can take them down rather quick.
Here’s the problem:
The buff gives them 100% damage reduction and condition immunity.
However, anything that increases a player’s condition damage will still cause their conditions to last a few seconds. If you have 130% condition duration, he reduces that by 100 rather than just reducing it to 0, so you still get that 30%. It works the same way with vulnerability and direct damage. The supervisors reduce incoming damage by 100%, but vulnerability increases incoming damage by up to 25%. These modifiers are working additively, so with vulnerability on them, you can still do damage through Righteous Indignation anyway.
I think the intent is that they are supposed to be unkillable, but right now that is not the case due to how the buff is coded.
So the buff is applied when a camp switches sides, and lasts for five minutes? That makes sense, though I feel like I’ve seen the buff on a boss at a camp that had been idle for a good while. Could be wrong though, hard to have all the facts sometimes running around WvW.
I feel like more than once I’ve lead a group of 5 or 6 off to an enemy camp way behind the front lines and been bitten by this buff. Could just be bad timing.
