Guild Wars 2

Hello i have just started playing guild wars 2 and wondered what is the best gear for wvw is it exotic or legendary ? i am not sure can someone tell me please thanks.

well currently the best gear is Ascended/Legendary, legendries are just more expensive with more effects with the added ability to change their stats when out of combat, this being said exotics are about 95% of the effectiveness of Ascended/legendries ascended weapons cost probably about 50X as much as their exotic equivalent (not counting crafting leveling costs) with armor being similarly costly.

The best gear is Ascended. It is an ENORMOUS grind to reach that level. Legendary (weapons only) also has top stats, but the grind is even worse .. the trade off is nice skins and the ability to change stats out of combat.

I’d suggest you start the grind process for weapons first as they offer more significant stat bonuses over exotic than armor does (at least at the present time). There will almost certainly be more grind to come so if you don’t start now, you’ll feel left behind (assuming you don’t already).

As explained by the posts above, Ascended/Legendary are the best stats. Exotics are slightly less. Legendary only comes on weapons. Ascended and Legendary takes some grinding materials to craft them. My suggestion, work on a build, use this site http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ to plug in the different gear. Start out with exotics, you can get them cheap using gold, karma, or even badges from wvw. Then just play the game and have fun, collect materials and work on ascended if you want to. A lot of people will complain about the grind and all this but if you just don’t focus on it and have fun it’s not that bad. I’ve already crafted 3 ascended weapons for a few of my characters and it wasn’t like “ok i need to craft an ascended weapon this instant”. I would just work on it here and there.

9/10 people in WvW will be using exotic armor/weapons. It is very easy to attain and the stat difference between exotic and legendary is extremely small, same goes for ascended.
