How is this angle even possible?
You mean that earth dagger skill? I don’t think it even needs LOS, they probably just attack into the wall with auto-targeting enabled.
isnt that the fire scepter skill, which just needs a target and not LOS
yea, that’d be dragon’s teeth skill, all they need is a target lock and it automatically hits if within range
Dragon’s tooth. No LOS required and auto-targets if the option is turned on. Complain about it until Anet fixes it like they did with iZerker.
In the meantime, drop a fear on the eles.
alright makes sense thanks
If it makes you feel better, Dragon’s Tooth is borderline useless against players.

Don’t think it makes siege equipment feel any better…
Oh wow, finally, a clear hard counter.
Thank goodness.
finally? that’s been a known skill for … 3+ months?

… I’m sorry, probably just really tired right now. should probably go to a doctor to get a sleeping aid. -_-
Ele earth skills can kill anything built on the ground. There is no escape
Besides dragontooth is fire …
Dragons tooth has always been ridiculously OP against siege.
It effectively gives one class, and only one class, an anti-siege skill, that forces you to either:
1) Not use your siege
2) Use your siege and have it destroyed.
3) Ignore enemy attacking siege and focus the Elementalist (who you won’t kill), thus allowing your tower to be breached.
Anyone that defends it is either an Elementalist, or part of the anti arrow cart QQ brigade.
The funniest part is that it has taken many eles this long to figure out that this is possible.
Won’t change. The elementalist community has been wanting to change this skill to a ground target (so it can actually hit something that isn’t stationary) but for whatever reason anet refuses.
^^ Yes, it’s one of the most amazingly useless skill a staff ele has. (And that’s up against some stiff competition)
’Hey mister, please stand still for a minute while I conjure this big spiky rock thing to drop on your head….
Hang on…
any minute now…
here it comes…
There!… Oh, you moved.’
Thanks for the tip, I might dust off my staff just to play with this one skill.
It’s actually a scepter skill, not staff.
Reading this thread reminded me of an episode of The Three Stooges. Who’s on first?
[KnT] – Blackgate
Wow… the amount of misinformation in this thread O.o
Anyway, Dragon’s tooth is a skill for Mainhand Scepter in Fire attunement that can hit siege without having LoS. The reason that you don’t see this skill used more against siege is that scepter is more or less useless in zerg fights because of the lack of real good AoE. Staff is amazing in large fights so I generally prefer to just keep my staff equipped, and drop increased area meteor showers on the very corner of walls to hit siege because most of the time I can’t get out of combat to change my weapon during a frantic keep siege.
Yes – my bad, it’s Scepter. (haven’t used Scepter since level 7 lol!)
I just tried it out in WvW. It IS useful as a counter to those OP Arrowcarts and does seem to crit sometimes for an awful lot.
As a DD ele, I usually have to stand around in seiges because we have no ranged attack. This’ll give me something to do while I’m waiting. I don’t have a problem getting out of combat ‘cos I’m not in anyway.

Mesmers can as well.
So can any class with an arrow cart.
Mesmers can as well.
No, they can’t. They used to be able to with iZerker but Anet nerfed it after people complained, ironically, that this should not be something that only one class should be able to do. Now iZerker needs line of sight, just like everything else except Dragon’s tooth.
It’s perfectly reasonable that one class should have a skill not available to others.
No-one else can portal so Mesmers shouldn’t?
It might be arguable that EVERY class should have their own special skill that makes them uniquely useful for something in a group setting.
If it makes you feel better, Dragon’s Tooth is borderline useless against players.
Don’t think it makes siege equipment feel any better…
They will nerf this just like they nerfed my pet climbing keep walls. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Yeah and because of the change now a stone can cause iZerker to fail.
Figrin the Healer (Guard), Angelic Renae (Mes), Death by Figrin (Thief)
the scepter has a very good burst damage potential with the offhand dagger if someones stupid enough to stand still, or in a close area.
but most aren’t, but yeah thats the dragons tooth skill just use a control skill on the ele when he does it, dragons tooth won’t hit anything when you fear/knockdown/knockback/stun/blind/daze and every skill has those things, its an annoying glitch for eles.
and one that anet won’t fix before they nerf this
