How long does it take to update matches?
It does that when your game client isn’t up to date. Try restarting the entire client and it should automatically download the update
Unless there’s been still yet another update , I am updated. I loaded in at reset, did they daily, about 15 mins, and headed for WvW. On the other hand, each launch of new (even last year’s) contents seems to bring on a chronic update cycle. How many now since Lunar New Year launch? 5 so far?
Anyway, I’ll log out in case there’s been another.
I know of at least 1 update today because I encountered the same problem youre having
If you start playing when an update hits the playable mark but before its entirely finished downloading you will find many areas of the game unable to be accessed and you will have to log out and finish the download.
The GW2 client doesn’t seem to be a normal streaming client which continues downloading in the background whilst you play, it just stops downloading altogether which makes the decision to let a player begin playing before its fully downloaded a silly option.
Miranda Zero – Ele / Twitch Zero – Mes / Chargrin Soulboom – Engi
Aliera Zero – Guardian / Reaver Zero – Necro
Updating a Match has several meanings…When an EoTM match is ending for example, or when there is an update that you haven’t downloaded yet on your client and you attempt to access WvW, this will prevent people from entering.
WvW does not update aside from the weekly reset. When an update hits, the game has to kick everybody out of the wvw maps. EoTM matches reset every 4 hour so there is a small 5 minute window that prevents players from entering while it is in the process of resetting.
Last night I had several issues as well, but I kept getting dc’ed every 20 seconds in WvW. So either you didn’t update, or were getting a random bug.
Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.

This part can be changed from options, I believe. Whether to stream files or not.
