How long will SFR stay full?
So, according to you, jade quarey, yaks bend, tarnished coast and blackgate should have 24/7 queue which it doesnt happen, your wvw population is counted even if you are playing pvp or just afking you are said member of that server, go and ask sfr pve players to do a server switch
PVE players no longer count towards server cap. Full status is based solely on WvW population now.
that s a good point :P
it is been more than 4 weeks already we are Outnumbered most of the time being Full while servers that outnumber us are Very High.
To me it smell like another big move from Anet TP Genius, it has been masked as “more balanced system” but truth is that servers who were loosing by 50k points / week one month ago are now winning of 50k points / week. Yeah, indeed a nice change, way more balanced now, Gz.
Only thing that changed is the fact that they had a huge numbers of players to hop server and i won t even imagine the amount of cash they got selling gems for trasnfers.
Well, balance wise nothing changed, but at last i m happy someone got a nice bonus on his salary.

Oh tinfoil hats. Brilliant!
It’s just an indication that SFR was overflowing with players before — WAY more than any other server — and now that you’re faced with “regular” numbers that the rest of EU has worked with over the years, it feels empty to you. Heck, even your “regular” numbers indicate you still have way more than any other server, because you’re still “full.”
Time to rally those you have there and train them, instead of relying on just throwing numbers at a fight and winning that way.

FA wasn’t nearly as overstacked as the NA T1 servers, lost several guilds to T3 and still took weeks to drop from full to very high.
The population algorithm looks at “active” WvW players (not PvE, PvP or EotM) over an unspecified period of time. It’s designed to even out the fluctuations over time so a server can’t use blackout tactics to change their status.
Nobody knows what an “active” WvW player is.
Nobody knows the length of time that is looked at, but it’s longer than one match.
Speculation is that the algorithm doesn’t adjust population levels quickly for accounts that transfer off a server.
that s a good point :P

Herm, when i say “Outnumbered” i don t mean a personal perception like i think our opponents has more than us, i’m talking about the buff itself :p

Not quite true. FSP was deemed full for several weeks after the change, then one day dropped to Very High for a full day, then the next day back up to “full” again.
That seemed to indicate the updates on population change were pretty current. Heck, even SFR was “Very High” last week for a tiny bit.
Not sure what happened with FA, perhaps you had more “dormant” WvW players that didn’t move or moved more silently than your guild exits, and that was holding up your status.
that s a good point :P

That happens when a massive blob leaves from one map to go to another. It takes the system a couple of minutes to register the shift in map population and resultant queues.
Anyhow threads like these are a bit odd. For the No.1 server it screams “we cannot fight other servers without a numbers advantage” and as a player shopping around for a new server, I’d hate to be wanted somewhere just to be fodder because my own server isn’t strong enough to fight with equal numbers.

They back on full status already? Man that was quick. The bandwagon is strong in EU.
Did I say bandwagon I meant balance and rotation.
The problem lies also in F2P start time. Free accounts may enter wvw only at =>60 lvl, so they can stack any server (except full) very much.
Desolation [EU] jumped from a bad losing in one match to winning with huge advantage in next match. Probably a big wave of free accounts enter the wvw. Anyway, calculation seems to not working properly.

SFR was marked as full 24/7 ever since they reworked how server population works

i don t want to be bad but that is not correct. SFR has been Very High for a few hours during the morning a couple weeks ago. Also Deso and FSP turned from Full to Very High in less than one week. That would be impossible if we apply what Anet said about the way they use to determinate server status.
Beware what they say or tells you, it is everything sorted in the way they maximize transfers, it could even be that they do it manually.

At this point, maybe they should just have open/closed transfer periods to appropriate servers idk, the window to bandwagon is just too long..
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.

One would need to ask someone on SFR if they got an influx of players from another server or if they got more participation from existing players.
FA didn’t get more players/guilds until after several weeks of being very high and still hasn’t hit full status.
If the algorithm hasn’t changed, then SFR’s population average must have just dipped below full status, only to have more players (internal or external), boost the average back above full status.
that s a good point :P

It would be nice to see how the overstacked servers who are used to winning through numbers/coverage adjust to the level of the rest of the WvW servers, who play with less.
I just wish Anet would force returning players or inactive players to choose another server if the one they used to be on is currently full. I hope it doesn’t get to the point where full servers start buying accounts from players quitting the game so they can get current WvW players to bypass the transfer limitation.
Currently seeing outnumbered buff at various times of the day on SFR – sometimes even on all 4 maps at once.
Maybe we’re still showing as full due to the alts logged in during prime time that sit at spawn or in corners- there’s around 15-30 of them on EB, sometimes 10-15 on home BL depending on where enemy is attacking.
Or maybe we’re still full because Sangchene and his many alts are logged on EB spouting garbage in map chat for hours at a time whilst occupying spaces in the spawn- shame Anet never take any notice of the many reports made by SFR players about his language, etc.
Still, I’d like to thank the FSP/Deso double teams that failed to take our keep last night, despite us having way less on tag than either of your mainly guild squads, the bags were many and plentiful:-)
New guild now formed in SFR called Deso (FSP need to double team with) made me laugh. It’s fun to watch you guys avoid fighting each other when close to us and still fail.
Loving the loot, just wish they would fix the alt afk’rs at prime time to sometimes have more than 20-30 on our tag against the FSP prime time mega blob.
As a system the ‘full/nearly full’ clearly doesn’t work, although Anet must have loved the gem influx from the guilds that hopped over from SFR to FSP and Deso, so maybe working as intended.
At least our average active player’s skill level has increased since they left:-))
