We arnt too bad pigmy
We have our downtimes like most servers with a similar sized wvw population but we have fun. Came first two weeks ago and second last week in close matchups so all in all I would say anvil rock is having a good time!

Let’s hope this points reset doesn’t ruin all this and stick us with SoS and SoR next week because that won’t be much fun at all.

In reference to ascended items:
Nar: I love that it will take me time and money to
reach the same level I’m at right now… …said no one, ever.

Anvil rock is a unique server in that we have slowly risen gradually through the ranking while maintaining a very stable and loyal player base. [TCMM] was really the only guild worth mentioning that ever transfered onto the server and most of their strength came from AR natives that joined up. But they left, and most of the natives stayed here. We have an alliance on the server with team speak, but are by no means anything other than a tier 6 server.

We have queues on 1-2 maps on opening night and on the rare occasion midweek if ALS or one of the bigger guilds runs a zerg in to do something important. We have just enough of a population to put up a fight on 3/4 maps but not enough to warrant moving up into the higher tiers where 24 hour coverage is a necessity. Some may think this is a weakness, but I like to think that it fits our server personality very well.

I’d imagine that the rest of the server would agree with the statement that AR does NOT want to be in the top 3 tiers. We don’t have the numbers and we don’t want a “SRS BUSINESS” lag fest with huge zergs running everywhere. We like where we are and enjoy having fun in a competitive, but laid back manner, unless CO Twogallant finds out that we have pugs on the grub while the keep is under attack.

We DO however, LOVE to fight. Our last win was decided in the very last hours before reset and was a total nail biter against the very capable BP and NSP, just like we like it. Because we have only won 3 match ups since release, our player base is almost entirely battle hardened veterans. There’s not much fair weather WvW on our server so we field a much more stable population than your average server, and in the 1 completely lopsided match up we won, most of our vets left it up to the pugs and took the week off because there were no good fights to be had.

We like our match up and have been lucky enough to develop a very entertaining and sporting rivalry with BP, whom we have gone toe to toe with over … I want to say 9 or 10 times now… We are like an old married couple at this point.

That being said, If you’re looking to transfer here: Make sure you guest here first. As a WvW pug I can say that we have a VERY loyal base, and if your’e expecting to waltz in and act like a rock star, you won’t enjoy the stay. We have had those types on our server and I can say for a fact that if you don’t come to the server humbly and ready to work as a team with us, experience has shown that WvW kings and emperors are usually dethroned and laid low pretty fast. You earn your keep on AR, and 100 gold will not buy you respect here.

If your scouting because you are from SoS or SoR and you think you might be playing us next week: you will dominate us the entire week because we don’t have the numbers to match you.

But God help you if we catch you on even terms. We will eat your babies and have our way with your dolyaks.

Anvil Rock is a good server and we (NSP) have awesome matches with them. That said, they are the most “numbers-reliant” of the tier 6 servers and have real difficulty when faced with equal numbers of NSP and/or BP. ARs biggest strength is its ability to seriously contest many maps at once (the other tier 6 servers can usually only hold two maps), and they like the BL maps more than EB. [ALS] is probably the biggest WvW guild you’ll run into.

If you’re thinking of joining them, go for it. We have really, really awesome WvW matches, with the points evenly distributed between all three servers. Honestly, with matches like these, I don’t understand why people transfer to Tier 1/2/3.

On a completely separate note, I’m expecting BP/NSP/AR to all end up in Tier 6 again together after this “ratings reset” evens out.

I’d disagree with the “numbers reliant” part, but kazi is from NSP which has the least numbers out of the 3 servers currently in T6, so I won’t contest it very strongly other than saying that I think we could hold our own on even numbers. I’d make the case that BP has a slight number advantage on AR, but he may be paying attention to it more closely than I am considering its true that AR and BP both have more than NSP.

If you are thinking of joining T6, give a look at NSP. They are a good choice with a VERY strong small group game going for them. I suppose in that respect AR does rely on numbers, but in comparison to BP, I see little difference. More importantly, while AR will welcome the transfers, as it stands we need them less than NSP does. BP and AR duke it out all week, but while NSP stays close, I cant help but feel for them a bit. If they had just a few more men, they could bring it to a 3 way neck and neck fight that is anyone’s game.

I sincerely hope that we end up in the same match up after the ranking juggling is over. It’s been loads of fun!
