Seeing as how even lower tier servers are experiencing the same problems, it seems to not be a T1 issue, but a game issue.

The achievements have brought in more people than the game can handle. Skill lag is unbelievable. A symbol of swiftness casted on the opposite side of a non-queued BG took 4 casts. huh?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? How can you play like that?

I would suggest holding off/suspending them till the first round of leagues are over or the first of the year.

Well, I know my tier has no problems. I honestly haven’t heard much problems from even tier 2 either. Honestly, it does seem like almost all the posters complaining (like you) are tier 1.

Choo is in a rare position of being a guild on SoR since start, long before they got large.

That being said, it was well understood that the T1 servers were going to have ginormous queues and everyone said this would happen.

As one who stayed on a smaller server despite it’s ups and downs; I will not shed a tear for anyone who ends up in a long queue.

Besides, take a vacation like AGG (visiting SoS) or go to NSP and ruin someone’s Silver League chances. Have fun with it or go collect candy corn.

You mean the people who paid for other player’s transfer costs to your server? Maybe it’s time for top tiers to transfer DOWN for a change.

I have already explained that SOR has never paid for a guild to transfer. The one exception was IRON and we do not regret that one bit as they are one of the best and most dedicated guilds on our server. On SoR we see other servers buy guilds and we have seen just where that got them.

So you don’t pay for guilds, except you have in the past. So you just don’t do that anymore?

These QQ posts put a smile on my face. Everyone bought into the crap T1 was saying about no que now everyone on those servers are stuck in them while every other server gets to play and enjoy.

Hmm, hasn’t SoR recieved transfers over the past year to get the numbers to get into t1? I know you didn’t get there with the numbers from day 1.

Anyways, there are more WvW players who actually play outside of a t1 server. These servers have been negatively impacted by your server (and even my server has impacted them (SBI)), so don’t expect them to have much sympathy for you guys.

There are a lot of former SBI players on SoR, and I do feel sorry that they can’t play.

no one paid for IRON we had the choice of all na servers and scouted as many servers as we could before coming to our decision to join SOR. As a guild we paid for 90% of our own transfer and was helped by the community for the ones after we had run out of money .
We came to sor because we felt we would fit in there better not because we were offered gold to move .

Well, I would imagine TC, SoS or Mag would not have the queue times that the other gold servers have. If you feel attached to the server, no one is going to stop you from staying there, but honestly those other three servers will be fighting BG, SoR and JQ so you will still get the gold league battles you want

So true, silver & bronze league rarely needs to queue to enter any WvW map and you’ll get same/better pvp experience (well dont mind this part if you like endless zerg of T1).

This Queue rant in WvW is trending.

So what happens when all these queue annoyed guilds fan out to other servers, and the PvE crowd get their achievements and go back to PvE land? Suddenly we’re back to complaining about coverage wars and server imbalances?

JQ might have gone a bit silly, but SoR is in a good place. Just got to get through the weekend. No big deal.

A calm and friendly commander is a invaluable asset, especially these days. However, he can only be successful, if the people around him follow his orders and try to play as a team. So it still seems that your pve players are decent bunch of people who contribute enough to the success of your server, don’t you think?

That is not the case. People on lower tier servers are experiencing the same issues. All you have to do is read. Just because it is not happening to you does not mean its not happening or that it is not bad.

This wont help my current server win in leagues. In fact the strongest guilds and roamers just cant defend their own server, because AN think its better let random achievement grinders spoil everything and keep the rating getting low.

Sorry, but I pve’d a lot in this game, mainly because wvwvw didn’t have much of an incentive. It sure does now. Enough that I skipped our guilds weekly PvE night to wvwvw, and will continue to do so. Yea we have lag. Yea I understand JQ had some folks transfer in, yea the Que’s are long, yea there is a ton of lag, but boy has wvwvw been fun once in.

someone should make a app where they add hourly achivements of clicking on kitten to earn points, im sure they would earn millions because useless points is what people like it seems, “YEAY I GOT AN ACHIVEMENT!!!” who the f cares if you grinded something a 5 year old could do and a million others did before you.. you made ME not able to have fun, so I will dislike and throw insults your way to calm down and go do something else for a few months until GW2 is playable again.

I have yet to see more than a 15 min Que on SoS, and have only had 15 min wait once, usually its 5 tops.

I tell you what…I really have to laugh at my fellow bronze leaguers taking joy in the T1 folks misery…

The only people that are worse than “stackers/winners” in T1 are the people in the bronze league that constantly moan about the “stackers/winners”…Seriously it is old hat, you guys are almost laying in wait to bash people for joining big servers that enjoy WvW….

Frankly I am glad they are all stacked “up there”, if anything they are making our (lower tiers) quality of life better because they have not transferred down yet and queued all of our maps. I am not even being remotely sarcastic. I have played on several servers now (NSP, ET, SF, BG, JQ, over the last year), I would much rather be on a lower tier and need players than have players and not be able to play (due to queues or the horrendous skill lag they have).

NSP only has a Q on reset night, and the worst it ever gets is for a couple min on our borderland and EB, rest of the week is no wait combat. TONS of room for large WvW guilds to drop down into our server and help out.

Honestly, we all paid for the game, and we all have a right to be in any “legal” area of it and play it how we want as long as we don’t break the terms of service.

Yes, there are queues, and yes there is frustration, but you, and those of the mind apparently similar to yours are incorrect in thinking that anyone isn’t of the right to play any section of the game, just because they hadn’t been there before, or because of what they might be hunting for (achievements, world completion, wvw kills, etc.)

If this were the case PvErs could tell you to get out of the pve side because you are farming their mobs for the precursors, or any other things.

I have actually seen a post in a different thread saying that the poster wanted a gem store option to automatically kick and ban any pver in wvw. Honestly, how elitist and obnoxious can you get? If what you want is coverage, you have coverage if you have a queue. Now it is up to you and your allies to teach them to do it so it is successful for all involved. Instead of cussing them and slamming them, educate them so they might become as awesome as you are convinced you are (I don’t know if you are or not, because I don’t know who you are or what server you are on.)

And besides that, if you waited 18 hours, sounds to me like you constantly changed what queue you were in, and therefore constantly stayed at the back. When I queue up on Gold League T1 server, if I leave it be and go farm in Orr, or something similar, it pops for me usually in 20-30 minutes. If you constantly change which queue you are in, then it will never pop.

All these posts complaining and whining about the queues that honestly, everyone has to deal with, and we were dealing with before the leagues happened as well is getting terrible old.

You’re in tier 1, its going to happen, but I thought you guys would of expected and accepted this along time ago with your constant calls for more numbers. There are plenty of servers that need people if you want lower queues.

The players in T1 do not want to transfer to a server where you fight sometimes and spend most of the time doing pvdoor. If that’s what they wanted they have transferred long ago.

The mega-queues are not due to transfers as the majority of the transfers were done weeks ago.

The mega-queues on t1 servers is largely a result of adding easily obtainable achievements into WvW causing people who had a year to play WvW and didn’t flocking in to get the easy achievements. They couldn’t care about WvW.

Actually, lots of the people who are coming into WvW to get the acheivements when they experience a good community have said they enjoy it and are going to stay around. When it is filled with vile whining and moaning and elitism it turns them off to it permanently, and your going to have the same situation every time a new season comes out (as I am assuming that the achievements will repeat each season, but I could be wrong.)

You and the others in this thread that are speaking for T1 servers when you are not actually in one of them need to stop. You have NO idea what you are talking about and you are just blowing smoke up our kitten. I have been on SOR since day one and I can tell you that WE TURN AWAY THE MAJORITY OF GUILDS THAT WANT TO COME TO SOR. You ever heard of the big 4 on SOR? It is the same 4 guilds that it has been for almost a year now. THAT is a community, THAT is players and leadership dedicated to building a community. We don’t pay ANY guild to come to SoR. We recruit for coverage and WE AREN’T even doing that anymore. We always had queues. But now the queues ARE 5-8 HOURS LONG because people that have no interest in actually fighting with us are flooding wvw for some meaningless achievement points. It is destroying wvw and communities that worked hard to build themselves up. Communities that have fought together side by side for almost a frigging year. Thrown away into the garbage.

Well if you want to blob then accept it. Just think of all those PVEers getting to have their first taste of pressing 1 constantly, you never know they might become regulars and you’ll have even more people.

WvW has been in game since launch. If the were interested in WvW they would have tried and enjoyed it by now.

The mass influx of people in WvW since reset are not there for WvW. They want the rewards from the achievements.

The people who enjoy WvW have been doing so since launch and there never was an issue of mega-queues like there is now.

The only change was the achievements/rewards. The new players are there for the achievements/rewards. They didn’t all wake up Friday and decide that all of a sudden they want to WvW.

No, actually you are wrong. Everyday is a day someone new can come into WvW. I have been playing the game since beta. I only started WvW around December last year. I wasn’t interested in the beginning, and I didn’t know what it was about, and now it’s almost the only thing I do anymore.

Sure the acheivements have opened the eyes of the rest of your server to what WvW could be, but real community building is taking the players in and showing them the ropes so they can understand what’s great about WvW and so they can learn to find the enjoyment in it. Real community building is recognizing that all players on a server have the ability to contribute and play in a way that can be helpful for the server and your points.

If you don’t show them so that they can understand what’s happening (because WvW is a whole different ball game than PvE) how can you expect them to be successful for your purposes. Show them that they can get the acheivements by contributing to the zerg/party run, let them experience what it REALLY is instead of whining and moaning constantly.

Yup. You guys can’t really complain. If you don’t want queues you can always move to a lower tier server (mine doesn’t have queues). They had even discounted the price (kinda) to help you…

This whole overflow thing will be a good addition. Those PvE and achievement oriented players will get to karma train and farm their achievements (with the occasional trolls that actually PvP) and the real WvW maps will be filled with WvW oriented players that compete and want their server to win.
Ideally…. (probably wont be this nice even if it got implemented…)

EU prime on Piken is still buggered, terribly long. No queue during NA prime though (6-7 est onward) …. and we are currently ticking second in “Tier 1” which is nice, given there’s a big mass of red to fight at night, haha.

yeah us people on stacked servers who had in average a minute wait to play on the map we wanted to be on and no wait on at least one map now have hours long ques. You can’t tell me this is from wvw guilds only. A bulk of this is from pve people who want the achievements and most likely will not do wvw after they get them. In the mean time the people who do wvw daily get to sit around in wait. Not the best way to reward dedication.

I am floored that you have a crystal ball and can see the future of what players will do when they get done with the achievments. While I must admit if on your server it is the same attitude towards them that is on the forums it is highly likely they will never come back, it isn’t because they were destined to not like WvW, it’s because of the way they are treated while there.

Honestly, who would really want to voluntarily pay their hard earned gold to fight and possibly die, or to buy seige or to get a commander tag, or whatever when the type of community they are playing for treats them like this when they are the first forays into it.

It’s astonishing honestly.

Take a step back and think of the first time you ventured into something as big as this and remember how it felt. Maybe it wasn’t GW2, but there was a time that was your first. Was it overwhelming? Was there things you needed to learn? Did someone help you? Did they show you how to do things to help? I’m pretty certain you didn’t pop out knowing exactly how to do all this, and giving a little consideration and guidance goes a lot farther than vile, venom, and vinegar.

I didn’t mean buy. I meant we donated to help IRON members come to SOR because you were coming from EU and as much as you could scout out servers you couldn’t guest and actually see for yourselves. I apologize if I made it sound like we offered gold for IRON to come to SOR. That was NOT the case.

That is not the only time SOR has done that but donating to help members transfer and offering guilds gold ourtright to transfer are two different things.

SoR didn’t need DIE, WARD, Aco or RISE but you got them anyway. Time to suffer the consequences.

I believe Agg has come back to SoS. No queues.

If anyone else can’t play the game because they are stuck in queues maybe they should consider moving to a lower ranked server. You’ll still get credit for the win or whatever place your (original) server comes for the league.

I will add that the SoS community are not elitist and do a really good job at working with anyone coming into WvW (and actively encouraging people who haven’t tried WvW before). It’s been great seeing new guild tags out there.

A week or two of suffering to get potentially more WvWers depending on how your server treat these “newbies” is definitely worth it in the long run. So if you trash talk them and yell at them, when the ques are no longer there and you wonder why your server WvW Population sucks so bad compared to the other servers. you just have to look in the mirror.

WvW has been around since launch.

Please tell me why all of a sudden they are gonna like WvW.

Wishful thinking….they are their for the new rewards, not because they like WvW.

The ones who like WvW were already playing around in WvW before the new rewards.

If new players want to try out W3 and make a meaningful contribution, we’re all for it. It’s PvP folks, not PvE…despite what even the devs say or intended it to be.

Imagine a football team picking random people out of the crowd to play a game. Who cares if the team has been playing together all year, those fans bought season tickets and deserve to be there! Even if they just try to get “achievements” like 10 first downs in a game or 5 interceptions…

Any of the top tier servers would gladly welcome new players if they are serious about W3. But that’s just not what is happening. Achievement hunting has no place in PvP.

Also, we’re well aware that world completion requires finishing the W3 maps. We’ve been wanting ANet to change that since day 1, but it never materialized for whatever reason. It’s unfortunate that hasn’t changed, to be quite honest.

THere is so much wrong here.

My guess is most of these “PvE” people have been on your server since launch. Yet many of the “WvW” people have transferred there, some quite recently. Who has the greater right to play the game the way they want?

Well…whoever wants to play W3 for what it is, not what they try to force it to be, would be my answer.

So you’re saying that someone who wants to roam the map filling out achievement quota’s has a bigger right to be there than say, I don’t know, someone who wants to contribute to the match and help us win?

Your argument would be valid had they been trying to help since day one. But the one’s who are just in it for some PvE points could care less about the match. I’m not saying all of the new influx of players do, most don’t. But to say they deserve to be there simply because it’s their server doesn’t make any sense.

I absolutely suck at some PvE content, mostly because I don’t care about it. Do I tell people who guest here to do Teq to wait at the back of the line if I wanted to try it out? No, because that would be silly. He/she deserves it more than me because they actually care about it. Why would that bother me?

PvP and PvE are separate entities, usually with vastly different crowds and player-types. It’s been this way since the dawn of time. What in the world is wrong with that? It’s always been like that. It’s normal.

So, to answer your question, anyone who wants to help the server beat the other two servers in W3 has a greater right to be there. Why would someone who doesn’t care about winning deserve a place on the field?

I cant participate in WvW and do something good for my server because my free spot is occupied be useless, achievement farming kittens.

You don’t deserve the “spot” any more than anyone else does.

i would rather have half skilled person who knows what is wvw about that clueless pve’er mindlessly farming archives, wasting supplies, dropping random sieg etc.

Everyone bought this game, so everyone deserves the same chance at getting into wvw. PERIOD.

but anet didn’t tell people they couldn’t participate in Teq battles because they haven’t had enough experience fighting world bosses.

Today I was able to go to border lands, but since leagues are begun nobody was able to do something useful for server and we are on third place with very small score. Now its impossible to make ourselves the first ones.
