i agree :p I know a lot of us on YB (or at least my guild and a few others) are just waiting it out so that our matchups will be more balanced, but who knows how long that will actually take with the rating system the way it is.

It will even out. Blowouts are happening because of deserted servers being in higher tiers and bandwagoned servers being in lower tiers. The latter cause will start to be fixed by next week when the 10 strongest servers will take up the top 11 spots. After that it will take a few weeks for those servers to settle in the right tiers. The dead servers moving down may take a longer time. IoJ is headed for T8 and will be in T5 next week so it won’t take too long, but SBI will continue to be in T2 when they should now be in T6-T8.

With a server reset and a week or 2 of 48 hr matches. it may help get things settle faster, instead of 12 weeks to get things settled.

It’s getting pretty frigging irritating on PS. Sure, we’ve got some big name WvW guilds, but we’ve also got the same number of unguilded, unskilled and unwilling to learn chumps charging around solo.
Just lost 2 towers because the grade of idiot we had on was too low to even form a respectable zerg.

EU is about the same, this was bound to happen the way Anet has been handling the whole transfer issue.
It will stop on Jan. 28th when free transfers are shut off. At the point very few people will be transferring again and the rankings should be very stable in 3-5 weeks.
Although some server populations make take to the February WvW changes better than others.

The OP says that 3 blowouts are happening. Your idea is that we should have 1-2 months of blowouts across at least 6 tiers at a time. Please stop posting your bad idea.

I am sorry, what are you saying? I am confused. All posts, I thought, were referring to some kind of playoff, resetting all points in Wv3 to make sure 1-2 months of blowouts DOES NOT happen. Did you not get enough sleep?

Because 48 hour matches do not translate to 1 week matches. It wouldn’t gauge servers accurately and lead to a month or two of adjusting after the transition from 48→ 1 week takes effect.
Everyone need to cool their panties about transfers and wait the 3 weeks it’s going to take for this to even out.
It would gauge it better than watching what is happening in your servers match up, Kain’s match up, and allow SBI, if it is as fractured as it is, to fall into a tier it belongs. This would clear up any major blowouts very well. Did you look at some of the lopsidedness happening? I do not think any server community should have to endure what HoD went through, or any of the servers that have had to play Kains lately, IF anet can help with a simple reset. So we are at an impasse and must agree to disagree.
EDIT: it isnt going to take 3wks to even. The Glicko rating system doesn’t work that fast with the 3rd party variable being a dud.

Oh you are enjoying your pvdoor atm? Not to put IoJ or Yak’s down, but didn’t both those servers just have a mass exodus? So what you are saying is, you would like to completely pvdoor your tier for a month maybe more? Am I understanding this correctly? Because I thought Wv3 was an open world pvp venue where people actually pvp other gamers on the battlefield.

There’s this website you might not have seen where it shows the next matchup based on the rating system anet uses. You should check it out!
Mag has spent one week in t4, and we’ll be gone next reset to t3. If you think we’ll be pvdooring t3 you literally don’t know what you’re talking about.

Its bad, everyone knows that. It will get better after the 28th, then the new battle will be with stagnation, which in my opinion is a whole new source of whining we are going to be hearing about. Imperfect system is imperfect, but other than completely revamping the basic concepts of server vs server vs server, it will never be even such that everyone is happy, and if it is, it will be pretty boring seeing the score be 50,000 50,000 50,000. I just wish for once, in just one single online game featuring pvp, wvw, whatever, that people could agree to not whine about absolutely everything.
