but it’s pretty clear most people didn’t and still don’t. Let’s be honest; the control of Borderlands determines PPT. However, no one wants to step foot in the DBLs. There’s verticality, choke points, and a whole host of other things, but all my mates want to do is go to EBG (“where the fights are”). I think verticality, choke points, et al are still valid, but that everyone (that I know) feels like the DBLs are just way too big, falling to death is no fun, and long runs don’t help either.
Maybe it’s a matter of population (10-15 could flip an entire Alpine BL without resistance in less than an hour). Maybe it’s a matter of commitment (no one is willing to spend the time in an essentially PVE zone)> I don’t know.
However, I do know that I log for this massive PVP experience. As a semi-hardcore, it’s what keeps me around. That being said, I’ve gone from daily logging to weekly logging. If I do anything more, it’s for my guildies to mine my home instance to get PVE stuff that leads to a WVW buff.
My recalcitrance to daily log as a three year plus player combined with my guild’s search for outside entertainment is telling about how far this game mode has fallen.
