I feel your pain. Although it was not a chest I died yesterday in the Lords Room while defending a tower. With my turrets and kit deployed and all the conditions I had foisted on the enemy zerg, bags were dropping all around me until the last of our side succumbed. I counted no less then 12 bags arranged in a neat circle around me. In frustration I recalled and forgot to take a screenie. It was a sad sad picture.

Respawn after you die instead of laying there dead so you can collect loot at spawn. If that doesn’t do it for you, stop dying.

Oh I know that but we lost that tower by <—→ that much and since our wps were down I was feeling lazy and hoping our side would win. C’est la vie!

Sucks for you, but yah just respawn after you die and all loot bags or chests will spawn with you where you can pick them up.

It fills me with a strange form of spiteful joy when the defense of a keep fails by a hair because there’s 20 people who died and refused to run back. And then the chat fills up with “ah man i had like X bags there!”.
Yes, and if you had just run back instead of being lazy those bags wouldve been yours while you were running back.

There still are the cases of lootbags appearing just after you go down and before you can respawn. Any other case though – too bad should have respawned.

Had that a few times, yes I was stupid enough to get killed. I blame myself not the game.

Map: Doesn’t promote respawning
Downed state: Doesn’t promote respawning.
Short fights: Don’t promote respawning.
Keep fights: Don’t promote respawning.
Loot: Doesn’t promote respawing and if it does. you have to stand still in spawn or backtrack every time for your loot.
Reward system upon capture: Doesn’t promote respawning
Tag for loot system: Doesn’t promote respawning.
WvW in general: Doesn’t promote respawning.

Add the fact that the kitten things timeout at an insane speed. Sucks to die mid zerg at ogrewatch with loot aplenty then have to run back from green keep. I’ve had to run to stonemist from home keep and the loots gone.
Would like it to pop a window on respawn “unclaimed loot”
or ability to grab em as they drop while dead. – stonemist lag anyone? “i’m pressing aoe loot but the lagggg…dead. argh! my shinies!”

“You have to manually pick up your loot in a game mode about killing other players” sounds sillier.

It’s like hitting a node with a pick axe and having to pick up the ore afterwards.

The solution is… once you are down, do not try to get yourself back up. Just let yourself die as quickly as possible. The whole time you are dying, just spam the respawn waypoint as hard as you can. Once you are respawned, any kills that you tagged will drop their loot at your feet in the spawn area.

Wish there was a way I could suicide once I’m downed instead of waiting for someone to kill me. That way I could respawn a split second after, and never miss my loots.

Honestly though, the loot system is frustrating at times, and can actually promote the kind of action I described. I don’t do that myself, but you can see how people concerned with loot may do such things.

Ohh XD… you are right man, it can promote bad behavior, like kamikaze squaddrons, I already see it : 40 pvers with berserker armor smashing theyr way inside a blob in a suicide attempt. /profit

I feel your pain, Fella! Seen it happen many a time. And yes, I did re-spawn as soon as I could in those circumstances. Part of the game, and all that.

But the kick I get (Necro here .. spread the conditions, switch to Plague and roll into the crowd), when I re-spawn and then spam my area loot button as I hasten (note: I didn’t say speed back) back into the fray!

No, it doesn’t. But it will start to spawn at your new location if people die from the fight after you left.

Though in reality it was some useless exotic that sells for less than a gold.

All lords, champs and camp vets drop steel chests. If that’s the case don’t think much of it. It’s just some useless ascended crafting mats and some green junk. If it was in the open field however try to console yourself with the thought it was just som lvl76 exotic armor piece with crappy rune worth 1,5g at the most. Anyway don’t give it any thought cause you’ll never know.

I should be able to do it the same way I can make circles appear on the ground and people start spurting blood from their eyes.

The underlying problem, of course, is the awful reward system in WvW.

Oh all the fallacies in your post this is a big one. Try hitting auto loot as you run back each time you have xp show on your screen. You can easily grab bags while running back without doubling back.

But yes everything about wvw promotes respawning if you are not fighting you are not taking a position. Rallying is one thing but most wvw players would rather get you back on your feet by killing your foes rather than stop and res you. Stoping to res means you now have 2+ people not in the fight. Waiting to be rezed is selfish. Releasing and running back is far more of a benefit and you risk losing more bags
