Besides the incredible lag generated on the recent patch, the AC damage is still not fixed. 3 super arrow carts held back a SURPRISE attack on a tower even though we broke the reinforced door with a sudden rush.

10 people vs 30 + people (they rush in when gate got to 10%). I think the devs are just out to kitten off the commanders because apparently good tactics mean nothing. What is wrong with the devs. Is our “suggestion sample” really the minority when people thumbs up the post?

Every single day I see lesser people going onto WvW, you devs must enjoy destroying morale.

Yeaaahhhh… ‘k… you see… something isn’t passing the sniff test here. I’m guessing you were with the 30 man group against what you claim were ten people, seven of which did absolutely nothing but watch three guys on ACs burn you down after you broke through the gate and were charging in?

So if you were in such a hurry to break in you must have put up orange swords signaling you were there in number, probably had what, three, four or five rams going… yet it was a surprise attack… yeah, something definitely isn’t passing the sniff test here.

If you were attacking with a force of ten vs thirty… well, gee… it must have been the arrow carts that did you in.

The tougher professions who had 30 k or high heal (guardians) managed to make it to the top of the lord, but was ultimately no match for the arrow carts and streaming enemy players.

PS: I only counted 3 when I went down, perhaps it was more than 3. The damage output does absurdly high, I feel like I received 4.5k damage every second.

You need to change your group comp. A guild of 30 should survive just about anything. Waterfields, blast finishers, guardians dodging, guardian mace auto attack, shout heal warriors, etc. I’ve pvdoored reinforced gates down from 50% under 3 sup arrow carts + enemy fire with less than 30 and the right group comp. Now, with ram mastery, this should be even easier. I do, agree, however that sup ACs do too much damage.

Blackgate Native. It takes tremendous strength and skill to pull a lever.

Ah, that clarifies it. So you’re saying that around ten people in a defensive position with superior siege (three ACs, designed to be anti-personnel) and time to use it were able to fend off thirty or so attackers.

I almost never agree with VOLKON, and probably never will again, but WvW was never intended to be sPvP and I really don’t see anything wrong with 10 motivated defenders with three or more intelligently placed siege just barely holding off 30 attackers … some of whom were glass cannons and all of whom used siege to break down the gate in the first place. Don’t want to lose all your health to ACs before getting inside? Try catapults or trebs from beyond AC range. It sounds like you tried a brainless rush and got your kittens handed to you just as you deserved.

It happened in Veloka owned by BG.
First attempt they (SoR) came in large force of 50 people and 2omegas golems. the few people that get inside managed to repair gate with the 700 supplies and build 3 ACs. A treb was aiming gate to defend it. Veloka supplies felt from 700 to 0 in this timeframe and give enough time to our smaller force of 10 people to kamikaze kill the omegas. Then under the fire of the 3 ACs they felt back.
After fixing gate with camp supplies we left Veloka without scout (our bad) and empty of supplies.
Second attack they managed to try to sneak it with 2 or 3 rams and only 30 people. Veloka had 80 supplies in. When I checked what contested white sword the tower the gate was 20% left so I used the 80 sup to fix the gate to gain time. The treb was turned away from gate aiming by some random insider and by the time I turn it back aiming at gate, it was 10% left then ,thanks god, our mesmer ported our main force (15people) inside veloka that took position up of stairs to hold the choke and man the 3 AC with the aoe this group of 30 people have been litteraly killed providing with bloodlust buff level 2 a nice wvw point of 60. XD
You have to understand that the time when karma trains were going all around is about to be over and taking a structure will require organisation, coordination, tactic, and strategy while being able to hold. Don’t expect, specially in Tier 1, to achieve anything if you don’t meet these requirements: you are providing more points dieing trying to take a bunkered up tower than what it would have given you after 15min holding it. The bloodlust buff is another parameter that will stop zergs to keep throwing bodies.
It was a nice save and we are proud of it while it cost you few gold coins and also provided us 60 extra points as we had level 2 bloodlust buff activated when you died on our feet.
We enjoyed the encounter keep up the fight. “The wise man will ask himself how to improve, the others will just whine” Master Yoda.

Nah. I’ve seen defenders stop larger forces before the change as well. The second wave was thirty or so charging in against fifteen guys with three ACs. Not hard to see them dying in that situation.

30 upscaled staff elementalists in glass cannon gear will get thrashed good by sup ACs, yes, as they should.
It’s nice to see it working and making baddies frustrate.
Here’s an idea: Why didn’t you sent in your plates to kill the ACs first, instead of mindlessly running through the chokepoint with your whole troupe as soon as the gate fell?

If you knew those AC’s were there (since they were beating you at the gate) then you should have taken them out.

Also, Sup. AC’s work perfectly and are not overpowered. It doesn’t do enough DPS where you would be down instantly, you still have a chance to roll out and recover.

Good job running your force into their death. Then complaining about it in the forums along with the incredibly unoriginal “Devs want to kill WvW” comment

This is bullkitten. Every single day, the commanders will be thinking on how to take down areas with multiple superior arrow carts, but the worst part is how many players are using zoom hack to extend range and cannot be taken down without resorting to the same method. And none of the bigger guilds I know in SEA prime time use zoom hack to bring down the “well placed arrow carts”.

This makes for multiple runs in circles or full range trebs/golem rushes. And what happens? People complain about golem rushes melting gates. The WvW game has devolved into something like that. Guilds running away and hiding behind towers with tons of super carts because they are not confident in winning in open field battles, while guilds have to resort to using tons of omegas with portals to bring down a fortified location full of arrow carts.

Ask yourself whether this is the truth.

Defensive players should be outsieged (starved to death for supplies), not waypoint back bring back more supplies build more super carts, “yay stroke your ego with I defend with well placed siege”.

Arrow carts should be hit with at least a 25% nerf in damage. The meta game has already stagnated into throwing tons of super carts and camping behind towers whenever outnumbered.

actually my guild does that all the time. we take even keeps like that, because the other server is too busy running with a giant 60man zerg in our bl, so we go to the undefended stuff.
its all about tactics, but yeah sometimes they will send their zerg to kill u and then u move on.
