Like above, do you guys know which server has the lowest possible population in EU on WvW? I’m from Desolation, I’ve changed my server recently to one from 4th tier, trying to run away from the crowds but I have the same situation here, even worse.

I’m thinking about the last tier server right now. If the situation there will be the same I will most likely quit wvw completly.

I know that I can’t avoid zerg mentality and big groups of people running together just to catch one guy for couple of minutes cause he’s an easy prey. This is poor game design fault. Maps are too small or there’s too many people on them.

I want a sever where unavoidable zerg will be made of 20-30 players instead of 100.
I wan’t a server where I will be able to join without waiting hours in queue.
I wan’t a server where taking keeps and towers or defending them will mean something. And it will be worth it. Instead of just having two/three opposing big zerg armies running clock or counter clockwise around the map and backcapping things that were just 10min. ago in enemy posesion. Those armies will never meet, they are always like 6-12 or 9-3 position against each other.
I want a server that is so low in stupid tier system that noone cares about it, there’s no drama, no big tryhard guilds joining and unbalacing everything and capping everything for the whole week leaving other two servers at 20-40 points.

Let’s face it. This game sucks when there’s more than 20 people on your screen. I could play with 24 people in GW1, I can’t do the same in GW2 even in a game mode especially desinged for that. LOL

Culling, chaos and million graphic effects all at the same time and fancy skills are rediculed to the point where more people + more aoe dmg = big glorious win.

If i wasn’t on deso..it would be fsp.

I would avoid the lower tier if you want to avoid the zerg mentality. Vabbi and Surmia just had an influx of hero guilds who’ve come down from the upper tiers to save the day. It’s gonna be painful down there for a while.

I’m on Gunnar’s Hold in tier 8, and even here zergs are an important part of the game. Most of the time though they’ll be around 20-30 players and will seek to engage each other rather than avoid and cap towers. Unlike in the higher tiers, we don’t need to cling on to every last point, we don’t need to be efficient when capping towers or retaking camps – it’s a lot more casual.

If you wait 1-2 weeks, you can join vabbi or FoW then. They would be perfect for you (FoW i recommend to you)

I think Blacktide in just few weeks will be a server you’re looking for.

I would advise gunners hold to anyone wanting to move server, they have the best mentality wvw wise. not the smallest but if you are looking for well thought out strategies and people willing to participate in a fun experience thats probably a good lower pop server to move to.

OP , experiencing your same problem i transfered from an EU server to an NA server.
Problem solved.
My WvW is perfect now .
I like the 1 vs 1 , or small group fight .
If you are EU and go in lower tier NA server ,you basically play while all NA ppls are sleeping ,and there are just few hardcore or other EU ppls that fight.
Zergs are smaller , and is easy to detect the map if you want to play with a small zerg , or detect the map if you mostly like do small fight like me (1vs 1 or anyway small group fight , and it’s totally different from an sPvP where armor and gear bonus are restricted) .

Give it a try if you feel is fine , go to an NA server and test yourself .If you do it now ,you will have another chance to go back on EU till the pay-to-transfer thing.

But , consider also the counter of this : no more PvE .During the NA night PvE maps are desert (at least in low tiers , but is not a problem for me i never done PvE in the hope Anet one day will give us WvWers a way to keep gears without do istances) .

Thanks for info, NA servers weren’t an option for me but might be worth giving it a shot. Aside from connection issues, time zone differences there’s more. I was always under the impression that NA players are just rude (euphemism).

No , NA players are fantastic and nice as europeans…sometime even more kind than us.
So don’t worry about this.
Also,from my experience,small NA server are realy really organazed in terms of WvW tactics.
After i saw this,i would never go back to EU.
I have no lag,no connection problem (correct me if i’m wrong but both EU and NA servers are somewhere in the U.S.A).

Yep, thats me and my prejudice. You’re also right about servers, when I’m tracing my client I’m connectiong to Texas, way to EU servers Anet!
