Guild Wars 2

This game, at least its wvw portion is not playable.
For days and hundreds of deaths I just put it on the side knowing that Anet was working on it. But I can t play this game anymore and this is not what I bought.

Situation:
You are somewhere doing something, then you are dead and ONLY once you are dead do enemies appear around you. This is NOT acceptable in a combat situation map.

I don t care what excuse you give for this, I do not care about the technical term…this is game breaking. Further more since everybody is affected by this you have servers exploiting the rendering issue purposefully.

When you are dead and look around you and see 12 blue revive icons you know something is wrong, you know those 12 people are going W.Tf??? It is no longer acceptable, I am not willing to spend evenings running for 4 minutes to get to a point on the map where I will be killed by invisible armies exploiting your server culling.

The game looks great in PVE, great soundtrack and great art direction…but your wvw which is what motivated me to buy the game sucks and it sucks really really bad. As of today I am not recommending the game anymore and I have no interest or intention to log back in.

Until I get an email from Anet announcing that the WvW component of the game is now out of beta and properly works then I won’ t bother spending more time in the game or the forums and I certainly won’t be buying any gem cards whatsoever.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Well I want to keep my sanity. You are taking a huge risk in not fixing this before ESO comes out…I hope you guys realize this

Maybe you should play on a less populated tier if you can’t handle the culling bombs. But whatever, your mind is set buh-byes. Life goes on and so does the war, good bye posts to try to make others dislike the game are pointless. Cause really no one cares.

its posts like these that make arena net deliver promises instead of patch notes. I should fix that, they deliver actual patches that don’t make the game better, they actually make it WORSE. GW2 ESPORTS!

you guys are hilarious, you paid money for a broken game mechanic and you act as if the OP’s frustrations aren’t shared by most people. Its like you have no value for your money, probably your parents money and now you’re white knighting A Net. 60 dollars is a lot to pay for a broken mechanic since release.

What really amazes me is how uncreative arena net is. You’d think a developer would have come up with the idea that “haey if our systems can’t handle loading in models, you think we can get them to show nametags at least and have models come in after?”. You know because then at least people would be able to know they’re walking into a zerg.

The culling issue has actually gotten much worse after Anet claimed that they have fixed it.

Before the so-called ‘fix’, I can see incoming zerg from far away. Now I even have problem seeing the members of my own zerg when we were running around :I

Many a times I saw one or two enemies appearing at a distance and when I ran towards them for engagment, 10-20 more reds just popped out from nowhere. They must be thinking I am a sucidal player or an idiot lol

There was no research that could have been done before buying that says culling is a major issue. You won’t go to ANet’s site and see a blurb “Epic WvW fights involving armies of invisible people we won’t show you because we can’t afford bandwidth”.

Wait a week or two to buy the game, let it play out get feed back from others. You don’t have to be that Oh em gee must have game first day guy.

Also it’s not my fault you play in t1 as I mentioned above maybe the op should move to a lower tier where it is not 24/7 zerg and more comfortable to his playstyle and works in his operating range.

I’ve been in t1 and now I’m in t2 I can tell you we don’t have the problem the zerglings in t1 have so sorry everyone bandwagon’d to your servers and now can’t play the game. Change servers or uninstall your call, once again I don’t care.

I agree with the OP. there are far too many broken elements of wvw. culling + stealth being the worst.

The OP is absolutely right and ANET is incompetent in handling several problems of this game. Like the render issues (culling), handling hackers, balancing issues, zero commitment towards WvW so far – hell, even basic things like risk vs reward.

Doesn’t mean the game isn’t still fun, at least certain aspects of it. However, the forums got pretty quiet lately, propably because less and less people care. ANET better realize that only people who care about the game write posts like OP.

Go to tier 7-8, I only experienced it one time when 2 “kitten” zergs clash. I didn’t think it would happen on our tier but it only happened once for me. Except when you’re into hardcore pvp go 4-6. Tier 7-8 are reserved for teh newbs only and casual gamers ofc. I still love & enjoy the game even if how hellish the bottom match-ups are becoming. :P

I play 5-6hrs a day in wvw on a tier 5 server and I`ve never really experience any culling same with most people in my guild. Maybe it would be worth transfering to a lower populated server

Well everytime I enter the enemy Borderlands we’re greatly outnumbered. Just take initiative, invite some wandering people to your party. With 3 you can do some pretty annoying stuff against the enemy by takin every supply camp!

Yesterday I started alone, halfway I had a party of 4 leading me and in the end there were 3 teams of 4 players active and 1 commander who was leading 10 people and taking every tower in the bl and later on a friendly team and myn ninja’ed bay :p!

Cooperation can make small groups big in achievment!
