I stood on north SMC wall last night and...

I think the message is loud and clear: Nerf Daredevil/thief.
Joking aside, yeah it’s funny how people want to fight when they have more than three times your number but if it gets even, nope, run, stealth and run.
Sorry but I don’t see the problem that you see here. They’re just roaming as a group.. is that not allowed? I enjoy the challenge of outnumbered fights but I would never pick a fight against a group of 9 regardless of their profession. 1v9 nope.
Roaming is gank or get ganked/zerged down. The stealth and mobility afforded to thieves and mesmers gives them the best defense against the latter.
If someone whisper you and challenge to a fight like that… look the other way and go somewhere else. Chances that its going to be a fair fight is next to nil.
Why so many daredevils and mesmers would run together is simple – evasion cascade effect. Even if they individually drop like flies to anyone with half a brain, its almost impossible to focus target against such groups.
Was it Baruch Bay “roamers” by any chance?
Madness Rises [Rise] – Banners Hold.
Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
Working as intended.
Eh I’d totally jump down and fight — if they’re a roaming crew/duelling group, they’ll just wait while one fights you.
If they’re jerks and they mass jump you, you get one death and take note of their guild tag. One death in years of wvw play is not a big deal. And if it takes 9 of them to fight one of you, then I’d be a bit embarrassed to be them, frankly.
However, if it’s just a duel, you get a new friend Especially if you give them a run for their money.
If Anet implements ppk as they have mentioned, those roamers/duelers will be walking feasts for zergs. Most likely wont see that many when that change comes.

there will just be more daredevils and chronos when that happens.
zergs won’t catch those classes easily.
and as it happens, daredevils and chronos grouping up are actually very good at busting zergs.

Don’t be silly, they asked for a fight so couldn’t have been BBers

Agreed. Those types of classes either do two things. Stealth and port home or stealth and pick off fat kids and laugh as they wait in stealth for more people to come back and rez them.
it’s just a mentality of a lot of people to play the class that’s easiest to slip away with, nobody wants to get rolled over by a zerg while halfway across the map
and for the most part, the “roamers” don’t want their epeans hurt, they don’t want to lose, so they want escape options if things get rough and they aren’t fighting people not running some meta build that they can pick off

I can tell you one thing, they also get off of reading posts like these
And you know, they probably would like to humbly apologizing for not playing in your “format”.
Dare Devil is a largely ineffective class except in numbers. Chronos are oddly the same way as they are built to amplify a small groups effectiveness. The reason they flock together is that their numbers are designed to wipe out smaller groups quickly, surprise equal sized and blow them up or run from larger groups. Given the zerg heavy meta, these sorts of groups have become pretty standard.
I know if you see one of my guild there is probably another waiting around the corner or hidden in stealth. As Admiral Ackbar once said: Its a Trap! I say the same thing when I see a Chrono and a couple of DH. You just know that a Gravity Well is about to be sitting right over a ton of traps and the DH are about to launch a pull.

Are you sure you understood the challenge correctly? We’re they legitimately asking you to 1v9 or were they asking to duel?
Also do you really have fun sitting in towers and using siege all day?
Is it fun to beat a dead horse? (thief, aka daredevil)
Man really…thief is a walking lootbag
1v9? What’s the problem here? Just grab your dragon banner and wipe them!
Drop ballista blueprints on them → they start to flame → you have a reason for a report. No, seriously: I don’t know whats wrong with some – or most of the players. They love to gank everything, they are super mad if they get killed once and start focusing you whenever they can, they jump on your corpse when they kill you while they outnumber you and so on. I’ve seen too much bad behavior and stupid/insulting whispers.
The next time you call the zerg and drop a stealth disruptor trap on them, but be prepared for more salt than you could handle.
