They intentionally made this week’s WvW matchups completely unfair.

Just to push people to do PvE content while their “chosen Tier 1’s and 2’s” get a free ride.

Well, hope you’re happy jerks. This is the outcome of 12 hours of nonstop 60 man zergs from Dragonbrand roaming every single map to the point they are constantly in a queue.

Don’t attribute to malice what could easily be explained by incompetence.

And we’re the more “even” server in the matchup against DB. Kain is another 3 ranks below us, and 8 ranks below DB. The fact that ranks 6 and 14 can end up in the same matchup is proof that this entire system is a joke.

There was a dev comment in one of the league threads about how the 12th rank server might not have a chance vs rank 1, but they could stand a chance against rank 6. Well, YB is 11, and DB is 6. I think it’s fair to say he was quite wrong.

The leagues are going to be a nightmare. I’m so looking forward to having to face SoR, JQ, and BG.

It’s only going to get worse once they put that league system in. Talk about throwing trains at a trainwreck to fix it. Instead of trying to fix things, they add more gimmicks and reward zerging and server stacking even more.

Back on topic, the upcoming leagues will make things far worse than putting servers 6 and 11 together in a match. Lower ranked servers will lose WvW population, creating even more disparity between servers. I can’t help but think that this is what ANet wants.

And here I was thinking our server is currently in the most evenly matched group since I started playing. I guess they just don’t like you personally, OP. Conspiracy!

What makes me laugh is that the new seasons will have matches like these all the time. I don’t think Devon understands what a huge difference there is between even a couple of ranks.

If you really think the server that is ranked 12th at the start of this stands any chance against the top servers you are delusional.

And Devon Carver’s reply to it.

I never said they did. However, I’d argue that they do in fact stand a chance against the 6th ranked server and the 5th ranked server. We are not trying to only ever match you up against your closest comparable server. That was what was happening with the system before and it was bad. If you are saying you don’t ever even want the chance to try and show your skill against a higher ranked server, then I don’t know what to say.
We will continue to look into ways to change scoring to try and even out some of the population based imbalances, but that is not an easy task and it won’t happen during the season.

I’ve got no problem trying to show skill vs a high ranked server, but there is no skill involved with a server than can fill 3 maps 24/7 vs a server with a morning (NA) population of 15.
