Being a player of a little over 2 years now, there have many new weapons and weapon skins added to the game since I’ve started playing, but there’s 1 set of weapons that I always wanted to get the set for, but was too late to join the game to participate in the tournaments.

The Mistforged Hero weapons gotten from the WvW tournaments are arguably one of the coolest weapon sets in Guild Wars 2, yet they’re unable to be obtained at the moment and unknown as to weather or not they’ll ever be able to be obtained ever again.

So I propose, ( to keep in line with still needing to run WvW to obtain), that a reward track be made to have the final reward be (like other weapon skin reward tracks) a chest where you can choose which weapon skin of the mistforged hero weapon set you want.
simple and easy, and hopefully repeatable.

Now, if Arena net would find that to make it too… easy … to get mistforged hero weapons, I have a second idea:
Still a reward track, however the final box gives WvW tournament tickets, say maybe 150 – 200 tickets per completion (give or take). This way players would still have a chance to get the mistforged hero weapons once again, but it would also still have the challenge to “grind” up to get them

What’s your opinions on this idea, community?
And by greater extent, Arena Net?

People keep asking for the tournaments to come back to get the item but this is stupid. You can’t have tournaments with balance so bad in every aspect of the game.

Well, that’s kinda the point of this post, it gives two ways to implement them back into the game that wouldn’t really take much change to the current system as it is-
1 being just outright giving you the mistforge hero’s weapon choice, and the other making use of the tournament vendor already existing, by just giving you the tournament tickets to spend.
Both are options making use of the systems that are already currently in place and able to be used / utilized

10. Does it involve wvw? If yes, go to 30

20. Does it involve dev time and connected vaguely to wvw? If yes, go to 30

30. Not going to happen.

We haven’t fully decided how to distribute the T2 Weapons and Armor yet. Though, we are currently leaning towards players purchasing them with a currency that they’d earn as a match reward. We may also set rank requirements for the various pieces, so you’d need to be a relatively high rank(1-2k) to purchase a full set."

Just make it a reward track. They had time to put that SAB one in so this one shouldn’t be to much of a hassle.

Just put the Gift of Heroes as a choice from the end of the mistforged weapon track.

cripes… 1k-2k?… I’m only like 46 at the moment.. that’d take weeks of heavy grinding to get that..

Shouldn’t restrict this kind of stuff behind ranks imo. Maybe some proofs/badges which most ppl drown in.

Months. Or years. Depending on how active your server is and how many blob fights you’re in.

They said that like a year ago. It’s not that hard to implement. Since it doesn’t look like tournaments may be back, they could go the reward track route.

Can even have multiple tracks to do to get 4 ingredients and dump them into the mystic toilet to get the weapons or armor.

Anet: What? people still play wvw? they all should be in pve by now.

While I’m not a huge fan of such gating, the skins were supposed to show dedication to WvW, so locking them behind high ranks is one way to achieve that
