Idea for DBL
I think it’s just big without enough options for crossing it quickly. If I’m roaming on on desert and I accidentally fall off a cliff or whatever and my spawn point is all the way across the map, half the time I can’t bring myself to respawn, then spend 10 minutes walking back. I can alt-F4 and be in a game of Overwatch faster than it’d take me to get even halfway across the map.
This is a haphazard treatment of a symptom of the real disease. It’s not a terrible idea in that it’s an honest effort to solve a real problem, but it introduces several other problems and doesn’t fix the underlying cause of the first problem.
Let’s first worry about the small steps we can take to move WvW in a good direction. Things that give people confidence to stay, return or check it out to begin with.
The map is too big, but there’s many other design problems with it. For what its worth, Alpine is also a bit too big and wasn’t really lauded until DBL showed how bad it can be. EoTM main complain is also that it’s too big.
Anet design had big issues with making things way too big.

@Pinko.2076 i think those issues is because the game lack of features and alot, reason they need to do alot of bloatware work on big maps to fill them, instead of prepare maps for future and possible features.

Actually, I think the size of DBL is good. The problem with DBL is the ELEVATION. It has too many high places. The cliffs are what hinders players from traversing the map more easily.
