Ok so from what i understood in the last guild chat, the reasons why the WvW team hasn’t put Gliding in WvW (and desert borderlands which are kinda deserted because of the unexploitable verticality), is because they didn’t figure a way to prevent players to glide in ennemies keep…
Why not putting no fly zone area’s around the keeps so that players can’t glide into them, and still enjoy WvW gliding

This wasn’t a complex solution to come up with. I acutally used a simple “DUUUUUUUUH” Algorithm to think of it.
That’s what the PVE team did.
And surely if installing gliding in the HIUUUUUUUGE entirity of Tyria was done that fast, it wouldn’t be hard to introduce it in the 2 maps of WvW.

(oh and since the desert borderlands weren’t that much of a success, can you put like 1 deserte borderland, and 2 alpine borderland? Or 2 desert borderland and 1 alpine borderland, instead of the 3 exact copy of an unused desert borderland).

This same idea has been bounced around the forums here since HoT released, if you read some of the threads on the first 2 pages you’ll find the same thing suggested in regards to the Druid leaping over walls exploit.

I do agree though and they definitely have the ability to do it. For example you cannot glide into the arena in the guild halls, you hit a wall and fall outside of the barricade.

Does not make it any less of a problem and is part of what they where talking about. If you add in gliding to wvw you need to make a LOT of no fly zones a LOT of walls etc.. time they simply do not have when there are many other major problems with wvw that need to be fixed. Its one of though things that its best to be with out then with and try to patch work fixes to make it not comply broken.

They simply do not have time? Dude first of all the “major WvW update” was supposed to come out before HOT? and yet it hasn’t come.
They installed Gliding in Core tyria in a really short time. Core tyria is HUUUUUUGE compare to those 2 WvW maps.

At this point it’s not a problem of time, it’s a problem of organisation and execution.

Jesus, tomorrow i will be able to glide in a map like Gendaren’s field where it’s not needed (but i will still do it cuz gliding is fun), but i won’t be able to do it in the desert borderlands where its needed…

You have comply missed the point its very very time consuming to put in walls at the level to stop ppl from abusing grinding in wvw. Over all its impossible to comply deal with all abuse that they would add in so its best not to have them at all in wvw.

So give up RvR for at least a year? If you did not like RvR all that much it should not be a problem but the truth of things is GW2 IS the best rvr game out there and until the other games are at least in real beta we have no ideal what will be good or bad.

Lately there have been more lag in WvW and gliding would make it worse both for how gliding works with client-server (look for how ANet explain problems in HoT maps) and how would large scale mobility be effected when we already have issues with laser event in BL maps?

At launch this was true but not now. GW2 wvw sucks nowadays, hell even builds suck now and the hacks are rampant. My point as above GW was designed by an American company and bought by an Korean company and they have trashed it. No more Korean games for me there just isn’t any jeong with NcSoft/Anet.

The reason why they’re not putting gliding in WvW is because it would give HoT owners a huge advantage.

While gliders might be interesting IMO there are many more bigger fish to fry first.

Problem is, I don’t know if Anet is frying fish for this overhaul or making sushi and assuming I’ll acquire the taste eventually.

NO no flying to wvw, dont destroy it more than you already done Anet, bring old maps back and skip the PvE in our WvW he way it USED to be.

You seem to be blinded to just how screwed up WvsW would get from the addition of gliding. There will never be any gliding in the current wvsw maps, that’s all you need to know.

Indeed. WvWvW needs to go back to basics. Less gimmicks, more balance and simpler game play.
