Thread for a multitude of suggestions to help better WvW. No mention of classes please, that is not the topic.
Things i’d like to see:
1) High ground giving a serious advantage. Examples:
a) Longer range from higher ground, shorter from lower (exists)
b) Dodge rolls up hills take more endurance than down hills
c) Vertical range firing down is negated. Eg if you stand on top of a tall tower and fire down, a lot of your range is currently eaten up to reach the floor. Remove that, or massively diminish it.
2) More strategic supply camps. Example of what I mean are ones like Bluevale Refuge on the borderlands map. For anyone unfamiliar with names, the south west supply camp. It has a door as the main way in through a stone wall, which has lovely positioning to lay siege to either the keep to the north, or the tower to the south east. It has access from the hills which help diminish its nature defence to what a supply camp should be also. It’s the best thought out supply camp in the game IMO and i’d like more to take on a similar role.
3) Proper benefits for defence. Especially on supply camps. As is people ignore supply camps and they just get taken, costing you double supply deliveries, escorts and upgraded guards because nobody wants to hang around and defend a supply camp. Why don’t they? Boredom and lack of real reward. I’m open to suggestions on what rewards to give.
4) Siege returns. Building siege that results in the capture of an enemy tower/keep should bring actual rewards outside of what everyone else gets for running through the door you busted. For every bit of damage your siege does to a breach point, after capture of said tower/keep you should get some sort of return. It’d help a lot especially for lower level people, as at those levels for some, 6s for a cheap siege is actually an awful lot. It’d make those lower levels more useful. And incentivise people to actually buy siege.
Add what you want to the pool of suggestions. I’m sure Anet appreciate this kind of feedback.
