Idea: scheduled sieges
Sounds a little too ArchAge-y for me.
They did this in Aion too… It was awful.
Every fort battle was a zergfest, and the open world was empty between scheduled fights.

I can understand that scheduling sieges will make it more of a zergfest, however some way to promote large guild play and in a way make WvW a bit more balanced in terms of challenge would give Anet a way to add more rewards to WvW.
Think about it, WvW ranks don’t mean much, they are just a grind you can do by following a com tag and pew pew from 1200 away. Badges don’t mean much either because you get loads from outside WvW (APs), you get loads from easy achievements etc. Night capping, or in general capping while there is no opposition has the same benefits as capping an objective defended by entire guilds. It’s very hard to measure the quality of WvW content, so how are they supposed to give out good rewards?
My proposal is to make WvW easier to reward and less based on grind and/or population imbalances. As for the empty world between fights, you misunderstand. I’m saying WvW will be as it always is during the rest of the day. Guilds that schedule for a siege are not guaranteed to defend or attack because the ownership of the objective might change until the “scheduled” siege begins.
The idea is to make guilds an even more integral part of the WvW experience, and reward those that take the time to form good teams/builds, organize and promote teamwork among their members. It’s a way to actually reward them, without also rewarding the solo roamers who just follow a com tag.
