There needs to be a system in place that not only boots players off WvW for plain idling, but also “INACTIVITY.” What I mean by inactivity is that i saw 25+ players on the server just either standing around a waypoint chatting for over half an hour while the rest of the server is fighting with whatever man power they have.

IMO WvW kick should be activated if a player:

1. Computer idles for N minutes
2. Lack of participation in either dynamic events, picking up supplies, repairs, not being in combat with enemy server players / enemy server NPCs (not killing centaurs in some random field), etc.
3. This excludes jumping puzzle areas

When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you.

There’s already an auto-boot in place for those who sit AFK for 10 minutes. As for those standing around and shooting the proverbial kitten, I’m not sure what they could do. Participation in WvW sometimes involves standing watch at a supply camp, and then seeing no action at all for 15 minutes. I’ve been there before.

Nah. It’s just the “calm before the storm” trench buddies time.

I don’t know what you call em, but I keep seeing about 20-30 people all stacked on each other auto shooting at air. Are those bots? and they are in the same spot every day. Sometimes they are all dead.

It does annoy me though when some one joins in to WvW and starts asking questions about WvW and how its played and what the difference is between this or that or why they are lvl 80 suddenly..

Because there always will be a group of nice people who will stop what they are doing (fighting) to answer the kid that just walked in to the middle of the movie.

My advice for those new guys: Please ask on the forums, or look up a video on youtube.
Or ask around in normal pve world.
Ask you guild..

Or… talk to the NPC that was literally placed on the spawn point for that very reason.

You guys know what they say about those that ask a lot of questions right? They get a lot of answers. Instead of being a kitten, try telling them the information they want. I find not having ignorant teammates a plus.

Talk to them and use this time to improve your own social skills, some of you need the practice.

There’s nothing wrong with new players asking questions.

Oh dear, we would have been kicked.

However we were already having our kitten kicked so does that balance it?

Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

The jumping puzzle shouldn’t be in there either. Why a jumping puzzle and other distractions in there when there are people waiting in the queue for 2 hours who actually want to help capture and defend objectives?

Yea, right, there is nothing wrong with asking questions. I agree!

But arriving unprepared is no one’s problem but theirs.

As far as improving social skills, this has nothing to do with social time.

I go out with friends and spend time with my girlfriend or family.
I don’t log on to videogames looking for that. I just play.

If you’re not working with other people, being socialable, what exactly are you accomplishing with your little one man army then?

The first step is admitting you have a problem and you need help.

Going to necro-post to reiterate that there needs to be a report button for players that are sitting in the citadel dancing and chatting, rather than actually participating in PVP. I was queued up for an hour on a low-populated server. I get in to see that the reason was because there were about 30-40 people just “chilling” and dancing/chatting in the citadel. A system needs to be put in place to prevent this from happening, as it appears to be some sort of strategy for an opposing team.

I’m a smoker and have a dog. I smoke about every hour and a half and my dog sits outback with me. Sometimes I’ll throw the ball around with her and come back 10 mins later. Should I get kicked because I do other things than wvw and have to sit in a que when I’m back? I agree people shouldn’t sit by a WP and just chat about nothing but the kick timer for idling is fine how it is.
