If Hammers and Cannons ruin wvw....
They are a problem for bad players, who in is mind atack a keep w/o destroying siege first?
That is the same as cry about Oil on pvd situations….. when pvd players complain about oil when they dont even target it….
Gw2 is already a brain dead game, dont make it worse please.
They are a test so yeah. It’s written on the pool option: “After players have had a chance to test deployable cannons we will hold a follow-up poll to determine if deployable cannons should become a permanent feature of the game.”

Deployed cannon if they do it, they should be used on walls and tower/castle vicinity only, defined zones to be builted etc, i would not mind with that…

They’re a problem for EVERYBODY. Siege is already strong in this game, even stronger in larger groups. I’m just saying…don’t make them permanent!
it is siege, siege is ment to be strong…. the issue is how Anet will handle it… obvious they will do it a to much of a gimmick so can be spammed…
Like i said some siege should have restricted rules, deployable cannon should be used only in some places, and should count as more than one piece of siege, so it fills the siege limit faster and not much siege can be build next to it.
hammer, cannon build or transported, whatever is added is good the issue is the “how awfull” Anet is at game balance to enforce their broken gimmick game.
Cannon blueprints would allow players to deploy cannons anywhere that deployable siege can be placed (trebuchets, arrow carts… etc.).
So no restrictions vs regular siege.

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.

Feedback can easily change the rules. But first we have to test it. Same is valid for the mortar blueprint that will be the topic of the next poll.
Yay, more complaining about something, so trivial, as siege, GG. Siege is easily destroyed, and if not, the person using it, is. A un-manned piece of siege is no threat to you. Roll up on a Tower/Keep, destroy ALL siege first, there you go, fixed your problem.
I just don’t understand people and there incessant need to make things easier and easier.

Oh you mean like how constant feedback has successfully reduced AC damage again after Anet increased the damage by 100%?
Cause that worked out great.
Really great.
Just in case you are missing it, my sarcasm is as discrete as a rain of arrows on a 1s cooldown.
…then will there another poll to remove them? I think it’s only fair.
We also need a poll to know if player want’s them back after they remove them. And then a poll asking us if we think that was the right decision and if we want to remove them again or would prefer it to be a random feature based on a weekly, monthly or season schedule.
This way they could have many more years working on the “huge overhaul” they have been working on now for over a years.
The repair hammer is going to be the greatest item in the game. Ty Anet for balancing offence and defence with the repair hammer
I’m already picturing a line of 3-4 cannons along a wall, with ACs and/or ballis to protect them and repair hammers on standby.
It seems nightmarish.

I always been curious about how hell would look like… I bet it’s sieged like a YB keep.

Next meta … WvW being transformed to PvE cannoneers. I demand the WvW galleon!
At least they aren’t mobile – and remember it’s only a test. No perma yet. There will be lots of grief

Oh, for sure! People will be humping the cannons hard.

I’m sure germans servers will show us why it’s a bad idea.

Unless… they are mobile!
We’d have a real pirate ship (well, land pirate ship).
It would be glorious.

Black sail a’hoy! :P
Defeated enemies can be captured for galley oarsmen and have to be rescued by their team mates.
Any loot picked by the ship is placed not in players’ inventory but into a treasure chest carried by the ship. Loot is shared at the end of the matchup unless the treasure is stolen.
This won’t hurt [Much]

Until we know the build costs we shouldn’t make too many assumptions.
Besides, the reason most blobs rub up against well defended walls is it’s impossible to keep the sheep in check if you build trebs to clear said walls before you attack- they will wonder off leaving the trebs undefended, trebs get killed, blob loses ‘faith’ in comm…so the comm doesn’t bother and will instead lead the blob straight to the wall where they will attempt to wipe the siege from below whilst being pounded. half the time comms won’t build defensive AC to keep the wall clear either, so siege will be disabled. Or worse still, some non-ts using sheep will jump on whatever is built, not know which bubble he is on the catapult (or not even have it unlocked) and the siege is destroyed, or jump on the sup AC and mindlessly spray fire wherever they think will net them most bags.
Hammers are a terrible idea from both an attackers and defenders viewpoint and hopefully will be removed sooner or later.
As a defender, I can see ‘people’ building useless normal AC all the time, repairing walls that are being trebbed from a keep, etc. Now imagine if they can repair their precious AC- your keep/tower will be out of supplies in no time, now the enemy blob can throw down the catapults or rams and there isn’t enough supplies left to throw down siege disablers to slow them down or supplies to repair the gate/wall whilst you await your main defence force.
The attackers can now repair any damage done to catapults/rams meaning they will break in faster- as most comms won’t want to use up all their superior siege store they tend to place a restricted number of siege per fight.
Defensive cannon if built fast and well might be good in preventing catapults and might add some more flavour to the game.

This sounds like exactly what WvW should be? Massive battles with built up lines of defence with multiple organized teams. Sounds like heaven.

I’m not quite sure that would be such a nightmare. It would just need more elaborate tactics to get a wall down (or is this a nightmare ?)
Actually, just imagine 3-4 cannons in line along a wall that a blob is trying to take down. If the blob is wiped, then the cannons served their purpose because I don’t think WvW should just be about blobs playing rolling pin against walls.
Now, it takes like 2 eles and meteor shower to wipe aformentioned cannons in barely 2mn. I blame this, yet if the blob doesn’t have those to spare, then it’s not taking things seriously enough.
So, imagine it’s not a blob then : cannons are not very effective against single targets, especially when they can move (and if they can’t, they get what they deserve). Players will most likely let the cannons and jump into the battle : that would be probably as effective, and more fun.
Whichever way I put it, I can’t honestly see a big problem, unless I come to think like a crybaby wanting to play the spam-1-steamroll. So that’s why I think those are nice things to try : they may provide new mechanics and some more creativity.
I can’t even imagine a, say, 20 cannons row in an open field ! You’ll need 20 ppl to handle them, so you’re close to be a blob. Why bother then ?
