If WvW had the Pact tanks...
Golem/Tank … I wouldn’t care if they were there, but as it is if anything was stronger then a golem, there would be zero point to upgrade. As long as they are in line with other siege then meh.

Since I outlined above that the tank would fulfill a totally different niche, I’m guessing you didn’t bother actually reading my post.
I actually read it and like it. It will fill the niche of siege buster well.
What about tank vs tank damage? Seems logically that players would try to protect their siege with tanks.
I thought ballistas, though not mobile, were already supposed to fill the role of seige buster?

Always thought we should be able to sue some of that awesome charr armor, here we have a main battle tank, huge guns thick spiky armor and im hitting things with a rock tied to a stick. multiple 150mm cannons HE ….what zerg;)
That said lets not stop at tanks the Charr death star is almost operational get the asura to work rather than a fortress for the centre of the eternal battle grounds a 3D sphere now that would be a fight.
Of course there would be the obligitory vunerability a farm boy from queensdale hits just the right spot boom everyone is killed
I don’t see why this tank is specifically designed to kill seige when we can do this pretty effectively just by hitting it.
I think one tank should be a mobile trebuchet with a few extra abilities that moves at the pace of a golem.
Then there could be another tank that is a mobile cannon with a few extra abilities that also moves at the pace of a golem.
Also neither tank can fit through mesmer portals.
2 gold and 200 supplies to build each.

I don’t see why this tank is specifically designed to kill seige when we can do this pretty effectively just by hitting it.
Primary reason is because killing siege takes a LONG time if said siege is shooting at you. This has range equal to a ballistae and longer than arrow carts. The purpose is to engage the defensive siege before it is raining down on you (alternatively, responding to people attacking your fort and blowing up their toys). It’s not perfect, as it has LoS requirements which would make some placements still very well protected. It would be very vulnerable to players engaging it as well. Fort cannons still have longer range as well.
You can’t take a fort with tanks alone, but they will make the job a ton easier.
Tanks would be very effective against tanks, as they are still siege. Would be interesting for counter-play.

Would you see it as having an arc of a shot like say an Omega’s rocket, or a direct one more akin to a cannon/ballista arc? With a low arc it wouldn’t be too useful against the average defensive siege like an AC at the back of a wall.. but with a high one I fear it would make AC’s just useless.
Interesting thought though.

Okay, posts like this really annoy me. Why does it sound overpowered?
Nobody expects this to ever make it into the game, but reasonable suggestions may inspire the developers to do something else that we like.
