If you could change WvWvW?
I’m easy to please, just make it lag and culling free.
i would add in a rating cap and floor
then i would soft reset the ratings — preserving pairings but allowing for upwards and downwards mobility to servers stuck stomping or being stomped for months.
then i would code a bit of infrastructure to automate a soft reset any time a 200+ point rating gap appeared
then i would base transfer fees off of average man hours spent in wvw. make it obnoxious (20k+ gems) to move to any server with higher man hours than average. incentivize transfers into undermanned servers.
suddenly i fixed the t8 qq, the skill lag qq, the q time qq, AND made glicko measure skill instead of population. kittening genius.

I’d remove server affiliation
It doesn’t actually make any sense. The vast majority of people can only play in a window of about eight hours each day. Why should I care if some people on the other side of the world whom I never see but who happen to play on the same server as I (selflessly sacrificing their connection and play experience for me, mind you) managed to hold some keeps while I was asleep and at work?
It’s persistence for the sake of persistence. People complain about night capping, but where are the people complaining about having to play on a server on the other side of the world in order to be ‘competitive’ by playing on the same server that has people with whom they will rarely, if ever, interact.
Outside of technical limitations, there’s no reason why there can’t be different matchups for different time slots. It would improve everyone’s performance (assuming they didn’t want to play on the other side of the world), the time gating would encourage people to begin play at the same time (just like on reset night, but every day), there wouldn’t actually be a “coverage gap” in any evenly held match, and it would be a generally improved experience for just about everyone.
How would you do it? As it is now I find it beyond boring / pointless.
I’ve been working on an idea were every server has a Castle/Fortress on their own battle ground, removing the points system and making the entire objective of WvWvW to destroy/capture the other servers Castles/Fortresses. Meaning the entire war effort would be focused on actually defeating your enemy rather than seeing who can make the most points by out playing the other server in musical objectives. Taking another servers fort should be something epic, not something that happens 50 times a day. Something that takes everyone on your server working together for days for that 1 huge battle vs the other server. By doing this you would also have to make a way for a server to essentially lock out the 3rd server from being able to waypoint/spawn into the zone of the server you are attacking. I guess this would be done by making the forward camps in zones captureable/recaptureable.
My thoughts aren’t exactly all there but I’d like to see how other people would like to see WvWvW play out. OR is anyone actually content with how WvWvW is now?
But:
No competition = no organization
No points – no pride, nothing to fight for, how will you match who vs who fight.
non oraganized zergs, since there will be no reward. Fights against walls , since i will have no interest to fight with 15 ppls vs 40 just to hold my castle, it will be there at 3 am also.
As an conclusion :
Why would ppls follow commanders ?
Tactics would be pointless
Organization would be pointless…
why would you bother to cap another castle if you can fight in front of your casttle. Why would you eat arrows from 7 arrow carts for 20 minutes in row, in front of enemy gate ?
Why would lossing side fight ?
Remove golems completely
