The stability changes in WvW were very porly thought through. They may work fine in every other game mode.
The camera changes are disastrous for wvw and the use of the camera to manipulate siege. The camera chages also turn every player into a omega golem and no siege or player is safe on a wall.
These 2 changes have ruined the game for right now. Hopefully the Reverent will fix the stab issues in WvW but I highly doubt it because. We have repeatedly told you that blobing is kitten of your game. And the stab changes are another huge hit to smaller group play if the berserker nerf wasnt already enough.
ANET you just killed your game. Becasue you didn’t think at all.

Big fights is part of WvW and will stay that way for some time. Its just the way humans are and you will find this true for all RvR type games out there.

A day is plenty of time to review this form of change. It’s not like this is patch is adding in new potential tactics or strategies, if anything it’s getting rid of them. It’s a flat out nerf to sustainability and the ability to push, turning melee into nothing more than a meat shield. There is no refining that when there is nothing new to work with. It’s just pew pew and hop to god you have more people and cc than the enemies.

These changes definitely have a huge effect in WvW. The FoV might not be bad when the new map comes but currently you can desiege keeps with an AC outside. The main problem with AC is not the Fov but the trajectory ignores all obstacles. Arrows can tunnel through everything: walls, roofs, rock and trees. Nothing can stop them until they land on target.

I never saw someone doing that before the patch, and i did played on several servers. and i do love defending stuff.

Its already crazy that a low ranked server cost 1.8K gems to transfer, because there a lots of PvE players. PvE players dont need to tranfer if needed!~~~~
And this time Anet hit the WvW players even more harder. if u want to defend with small scaled against a zerg or blob u are screwed, if u wanna attack a tower or keep in a small zerg u are screwed, so whats left over, small scaled zerg will not attack or defend anymore, and end up with blob fights. they should rename it next patch, instead of WvW it should be BvB

4. I got nothing for Arrow Carts. The FOV slider is putting people more on par with my Surround view three monitor setup. Before, I could just zoom out, look down, and hit anything at any angle I want by the wall. It was super nice.
Zergs of 30 people being just immune to CC all the time is seriously casual mode. I keep hearing folks yelling about the changes being made for casuals…how? How is increased tactical gameplay and teamwork a change towards casual, and not the other direction? When I ran with zergs all I had to do with my ranger was Autoattack and rapid fire. Thats about it. If they got in my face, I had to think a bit more…but not really.
With CC becoming more usable, I need to actually look to see the targets who are spamming CC and shut that stuff down. Gameplay has become far more tactical, and less mindless.

Now they will never get in your face. They will get stuck in CC if they try to. Enjoy your autoattack and rapid fire.

Yeah, as someone who used to like defending on my BL…this change pretty much kills the last thing in this game i found fun. :/

They have disadvantages. For example, week links off which people can rally. I also suspect that a lot of casters are just bad roamers who got tired of dying and tagged along with their bad builds, not listening to TS. In addition, the group composition in blobs in never optimal. Finally, I play in EU, and it was brought to my attention that zerg busting was not so common here, because blobs are a bit more organized.
These disadvantages are serious, and I have no doubts that more organized guilds will find a way to still be able to win.

There is nothing wrong with the stability changes. Anet implemented this for the future. It may seem kind of weird now but with the new features they are adding into the WvW scene and the classes stability will be used and countered differently. Personally it will spice up the boring “I have stab you can’t stop me” crap that happens now.

Its realty not it took months before ppl got the first hammer trans down. There more tactics and strategies then just simply being able to run though hard cc like it was nothing this is how the old stab system was. Stab was not made to be that way it was made to be a stun brake first and a small after effect of counter cc not a “I win vs cc button.” There a lot of refinement that will happen to the new meta it will just take some time and ppl are already getting the hang of it.
If your on the side of the old stab your asking for hard cc to do nothing most of the time. If your on the side of the new stab your asking for a real interaction between hard cc and stab.

And there I think we have our answer. You are quite right, resistance + old stability would be OP.
However they are balancing for something which is not even in the game yet, and won’t be for goodness knows how long, leaving us with this broken and unbalanced interim, and I do believe that even with resistance in the game this stability nerf will just make for more tedious combat.

It’s like I said. Anet is implementing things for the future content. Resistance will handle some of that and with some of the skill changes/new weapon combinations that will be coming out we don’t know exactly What will work and what wont. The meta may seem weird now but it will continue to change a lot as we head towards the expansion.

If the stab changes are due to the upcoming resistance, then they might have wanted to wait to make those changes until closer to the release of HoT.

If the ability to do this is lost (guild group vs pugs) simply because of the ability for the bigger group to CC spam, then a lot of guilds are going to quit the game.

So the class with some of the best hard cc is going to quit the game? Well that means less lines to deal with the main hard cc that ppl are losing stacks to.
Where has the logic gone post like this really make me question ppl mind set do they believe what they are saying or are they just saying to make them self believe something.
The class that got hit the hardest is war. Over all the other classes became more useful in wvw. So the game moved from GWEN to GTMEREN.

no one focuses warriors in open field. besides that there is a counter to that its called condi duration. What you talk about has already been defeated in the current meta by good groups. Most Necro and ele builds already trait into condi duration, add some condi duration food and it cancels out lemongrass effect.
In GVGs most better guilds run givers sword and warhorn and sigil of malice with toxic sharpening stones to give warriors 40% condi duration to make Immobs stick. Back liners already running condi duration.

Besides that due to the condi duration meta most of the better warriors are not running melandru or hoelbrak in group play people have been back to using trooper runes now for ahwile.

This guy I responded to talked about the fact it’s too easy now to stop the melee train, arguing it was already possible with movement impairing conditions. But it wasn’t. Of course the back lines was something else, but that’s not the issue. Even if you had a 70% condition duration increase, you didn’t match the amazing capacity the warriors can AoE cleanse them.
Btw, which server do you play on? On mine, warriors often eat Sweet Bean Buns (-40% condition duration, +25% outgoing condi duration), and since it was released during the Lunar New Year, I doubt this is part of the 2013 meta. I might be wrong though.

People argue about arguments that never got tired out practically as loud as the world would go under.
Guys:
- use heavy aoe-cc yourself
- call out enemy targets that are cc-heavy (necros / engis)
- lock down ranged spam with walls of reflection
- move more careful and actually consider stoping in front of or walking around a line of warding / spectral wall.
- Allow more classes into your raids (to try out new tactics and help forming the new meta), and consider replacing some of your warris with engis / more necros for instant-results.
