Illogical server transfer costs
Wouldn’t it make more sense for the cost of server transfer to be proportional to the server’s wvw ranking, rather than total population size? If I wanted to PvE/hang around in PvP on another server I can guest there for free, but if I want to play wvw on that server, I have to actually BE on that server. By that logic, the cost of transfer should be based on wvw activity (and the easiest metric to count that would be server ranking). This would encourage players to move to low tier wvw servers while discouraging stacking in T1 servers, and thus give you better population balance. That and also if I want to help my friend transfer to a low tier server where I’m playing, I don’t have to pay a ridiculous amount of gold/money.
At the moment, it costs 1800 gems to transfer to Anvil Rock, which is roughly 90g, because we have non-existent “high population”. Anvil Rock is the 2nd last place wvw server. It makes absolutely no logical sense to have to pay that much money to get people on our server to BALANCE OUT POPULATION ISSUES. It should be FREE to transfer to a t8 server.
High population =/= 1800 gems. Very high = 1800.

I agree with you 100%, in tier 1 WvW (I’m in JQ) Guilds jump across servers like catching connecting trains. If what you say is true about the cost to join AR, thats ridiculous.

Its true, anytime someone suggests this it gets shuffled off to the suggestion forum to die. It makes it easier for anet to ignore it.
Even 500 gems is enough to deter most people.
