Impossible WvW Exploration
Yeah, this has been a longstanding problem in my opinion. I think the better fix is that the exploration points be removed from WvW all together. However, then you get the lash back from the community for removing something challenging that they had to put up with. There’s no winning with everyone in regards to this. :/

Removing it entirely would be absolutely amazing… I’ve seen it requested for awhile now and never seen an official response. Even if they remove WvW exploration, they should STILL be randomizing the starter borderlands.

ow
we had a couple weeks of roflstomping t8 before kain and dr got transfers
(i got map completion free back then)
@op:
normally id say game doesnt need more rng… but in this case it does.
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions
truthly they need to make all borderlands count as the same thing because realisticly there all the exact same map in every way so why should we have to discover the exact same area 3 times

Which would ALSO be great, I personally do not understand their thought process when it comes to world exploration.
I totally agree with you there, for 3 refreshes in a row we’ve been the same colour which makes 100% exploration very hard.
If it wasnt for the exploration points i would never have discovered wvwvw and how fun it is lol Alot of the new players in WvWvW find it for this very reason and stick around like i did.
I honestly prefer it the way it is. World exploration should be hard. I got WvW map completion on a server that was losing consistently, and it was difficult. It wouldn’t be fair to people like me to nerf the challenge for everyone else.

Well done, but the situation is already unfair by default. You may relish the challenge, but some people just find it frustrating, while others don’t even have to worry about it, all because of their unwitting server choices (i.e., few people, if any, planned ahead and chose servers on the basis of WvW map domination and ease of exploration). You’re asking for that unfairness to be perpetuated.
Besides, if the setup is changed in the future, why is that unfair to you? You like a challenge, and you got it. How do the future experiences of players you’ll never meet diminish your own past accomplishments?
Having very challenging objectives in a game is great, but that challenge should not vary from one player to the next simply because of WvW populations those players couldn’t control and didn’t know anything about when they chose servers.

Value arises from scarcity. I imagine people with legendaries would be upset if ANet made an NPC who gave them away for free in Lion’s Arch too.
I was very lucky with mine. After BG won last week, it made JQ come out and take over everything and I finished it without even seeing an enemy yesterday.
*note: rams and everything aside – congrats to BG for putting in the hours and skill for the last push over the line. We though we had you, and that complacency led to a right, proper roflstomping.
Quidquid Latine Dictum Sit, Altum Videtur
WvW completion is easy if you actually play WvW which is the point. Even a losing server will take the tower you need the POI from a bunch of times during a week it’s the not holding those locations that makes the server lose. If you actually follow a group around a map for a whole night you’ll probably at least break in to most of the locations you need at least once.
The Vista in East Keep (Hills) is outside the inner wall all you need to do is get into the court yard to get it for example… You just need to actually be there when the wall is breached and it’s easy to get.
I think a lot of the complaining about WvW completion comes from people who never do WvW, they pop in for 5 minutes, check all the maps, see they don’t own the places they need and then leave…. Set a day for each BL and follow a commander on the BL and actually do WvW and you’ll likely get most of the POIs/vistas. That’s why they exist, to encourage you to play… not just to hope you own everything when you log in.

Meanwhile in Tyria, the hardest part of most, if not all, legendaries is based on 100% blind luck (unless you’re a masochist and actually grind out the several hundred gold to buy the precursor outright). Not a challenge, not effort, just “I threw 800 exotic hammers in the forge and did not get collossus, the guy next to me threw in 8 rare hammers and did.”
Wooooo.
