After 3 months i had enough of this WvsW, at first when the game released i thought that the current state of WvsW would be enough for me to keep me engaged for months and that i didn’t mind certain aspects of it, but now those things are bigger issues than i thought at first, and those things are:
WvsW is too impersonal, you don’t know who you kill or who killed you, so you don’t make rivalities or look for hours that player that killed or ganked you 2-3 times, you don’t know who is that awensone player that did something amazing or that other pro player with the cool gear that fought you. I really miss that thing. Also in that same regard, you don’t know what guild claimed what if you don’t know the emblem, when you press M you should se the named of the guilds that claimed the keeps/camps and guards should have the guild tag, And finally server jumping and battles changing every week don’t help to create rivalities
WvsW is too casual, seriously Anet, why you didn’t use a rank system here, badgeds are ok but thats not enough, we need a rank system something like you have in sPvP and you need to be able to show them in you name. Also an AA system with perks or skills exclusive for WvsW would be great.
Maps: map variety is short, we need that each bordelard to be difetent that the currently borderland map and give advatages to the losing team, Also and maps feels to clustered and small you only need a big zerg and just cycle trough keeps like a clock this happens specially in the current borderland map, the big lake in the middle is a lazy way to do a map it creates a huge emptsy space and that makes that with 1 zerg ciclyng keeps like a clock you don’t need more, so small partys of 5-10 don’t have any posibility to take a tower/keep before the big zerg comes.
Currently maps fell to monotomaus and removing orbs didn’t help in that aspect.
I don’t want to talk about bugs or culling issues, but what i don’t understand is why WvsW works far worse now than in release/beta, and yes in release we didn’t have those culling problems and maps also had queues.
Don’t get me wrong i love Gw2 and loved WvsW, i think is the best experience of faction vs faction and open pvp since daoc, but it really feels like if Anet thought of WvsW as an after thought and left so many things out, focusing on PvE and sPvP.
I will wait for the Febrary WvsW miracle patch but still 2 months to go and i don’t feel like playing WvsW anymore, 3 months had been enough and in general they had been fun, but map layout, impersonality and a WvsW too casual made it for me.
