In my view, Bots seems to be more important than Hackers in GW2
1. if you use the TP at all, you are affected by bots, as they affect the economy
2. bots affect you if they take up slots in WVW that might be use by legit players (they do bot in WVW)
3. 90% of botters are hackers, and I would estimate the 70% of hacks are aimed at facilitating bots, so they are going after hackers as well botters, as they are one and the same.
There are some issues with semantics regarding this thread. Having said that if we could take some liberties with whats being discussed the reason why ‘hackers’ don’t get mentioned much in terms of WvW is because there is not a lot that Anet can do about it.
Anet has separated many processes that could be handled server side or client side. With regards to aspects such as ‘speed hacks’ Anet is not really in a position to deal with this as the information is handled client side.
The reason we hear little is because to determine what is occurring client side is very difficult to ascertain, only Anet knows if they are able to determine this at all.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
Question rather being why are both of those seemingly more important than real players?
