It takes days to complete a WvW reward track with this 195 points every few minutes. Anyway we can buff that to 300 if your server is in last place of the last skirmish, 600 if 2nd place and 900 if first place? PVP reward tracks only takes a few hours. if you win a ranked/unranked match its 1500 points. 500 points If you lose.

Actually, it takes 8 hours to complete a WvW reward track. Much less with an XP booster.

EDIT: I decided to show you that PvP reward tracks do not realistically get completed in only a few hours. Of course it’s subjective to what a “few” is considered.

Unranked/ranked wins give 3.5% progress of a reward track. This means that you need just over 28 wins to complete a reward track. In order to get full rewards, the match must last at least 7 minutes otherwise it scales down. So 28 wins at 7 minutes each is about 3 hours and 15 minutes.

That is of course unrealistic for the average player to achieve consistently as well as ignoring queue times. If we assume a 2 minute queue time, that’s an extra 56 minutes bring the total time now to 4 hours and 11 minutes.

Let’s also assume that you have a 50% win/loss. At 38 games to complete a reward track with a WLWLWL trend, it takes about 4.5 hours. Factor in the queue time above and that’s about 5.5 hours. This is a little more realistic. Queue times will still vary as it can easily reach 4 minutes or more. There’s also waiting for the match to start which adds more time. And lastly, matches do not always end exactly at 7 minutes in the match.

The time it takes to complete a PvP reward track could easily equal to that of what it would take to complete a WvW reward track. It could take less or it could take more. The plus side about WvW reward tracks is you sacrifice the chance for a potentially shorter time to complete the tracks in exchange for consistency. Once you have max participation, you’ll always know exactly how long it will take to complete the reward track.

^this it is actually really balanced for investment/reward.

Pvp reward tracks can increments between 8 -9 min on average all the way to possible 15 minutes on close matches and you get less if you lose, plus factor in Queue times which can be anywhere from 2 minutes to 1 hr+ . While WvW is a continuous stream of point that increment every 5 minutes.

I wonder why it’s 195 tho and not let’s say 250, since the rewards are awarded every 500 points. At any case, I feel the current frequency is good enough.

I wonder why it’s 195 tho and not let’s say 250, since the rewards are awarded every 500 points. At any case, I feel the current frequency is good enough.

Probably balancing as it results in a roughly two hour reduction in the time it would take to complete the track at 250 points.

I see no reason to change this, I power though a track fast enough…

I already am over filling bags and find myself posting gear on market / salvaging while running between points just to manage inventory. Any more and I’d have to actually stop from following tag for 2mins to clean space.

Plus you can take a bathroom break during wvw and not be penalized, so long as you can take care of business and get back into action within 10 minutes.

When the timer was rewards every 15 minutes instead of every 5 (the best change ever was making it 5), it rewarded 550 as the max every 15 minutes. Since they were making it more frequent they divided that number by 3 (~183) and rounded it up to 195.

So we’re getting more rewards than when the system was in beta because we get more points and they accrue more frequently and you can stop playing on the 5-minute mark rather than waiting the extra couple minutes for the more precious 15-minute mark.

Using PvP as a reason not to change the WvW is silly, they are 2 completely different game modes, if the PvP isn’t rewarding enough/fast enough then it should be balanced for PvP, restricting 1 game format because of another will not work out long term.

I think the 195 cap is fine, but every time you kill a player ( non siege kills, and only in EBG and the home BLs ) you should get 1 point instantly added to the reward track, on top of your normal tick, this would actually encourage people to go out and fight rather than siege hump in the corner, for any server who is outmanned you get 2 points per kill, but do not award points on death, to stop a smaller server being farmed by a massive server.

So if your points where say 200 at tick, and you killed 50 players, before next tick it would be at 250.

As it stands there are ways to not even take part in any battle in WvW and still gain ticks, this seems unfair to players who actually play the game the way its supposed to be.

The thing with spvp is that rewards tracks are the only source of loot. In wvw you also get loot for killing guards, flipping objectives, killing other players, or material nodes. The wvw rewards tracks were intended to supplement that, to bring it more in-line with available loot from pve sources.

Use the guild Hall reward track boost for a continuous 214 points per five minutes. Add all the other boosters and it goes up to 319. Feels fine to me. I can complete a reward track twice in one night of play.

tl;dr: use your reward track boosts.
