It’s come up yet again that there’s some questioning about forum moderation (or lack thereof). Currently there’s two main options, anet moderation here, or no moderation there. I am opening up the question (for the 3rd, 4th time or so) as to if you want moderated forums, who would you nominate to be fair and unbiased. (most of you will see the problem with that right off the bat especially in a player vs player environment)

Trying to address your concerns, but I need help from your side too because I don’t have time to interview people or read hundreds of posts per day to try to discern who is ‘reasonable and fair’

However vyx, it seems like you would need atleast one moderator in every tier in order to keep things actually in order. Alot of posts per day on gw2wvw.net, and it would be pretty difficult to maintain alone.

People know what they are getting into over there – don’t worry about it….

I dont think that forum needs moderation. Its part of what makes it what it is, and what it is is different to everybody. If you start to take that away then it will lose part of its original value.

I wish Anet would add the matchup forums here again, with like 10 of their “specialists” to moderate it. And a disclaimer when entering it thats its controlled by the community, heh.

In regards to gw2wvw, I’ll just say that leaving a forum unmoderated is a bad idea.

I think it’s funny there’s other sections besides WvW matchup threads within his site, as if anyone visited those.

As for the WvW threads, It’s like an episode of Hoarders where it started off with good intentions and then over time became cluttered with trolls to the point where the owner gave up. Now everyone who ventures within sloshes through heaps of troll posts that nobody has the will nor energy to clean. lol

I guess now this is the part in the episode where the moderators (specialists) come in to get to the psychological root of the problem and are assisted with family members and dump trucks.

I can’t wait for the part where they remove a slimy thread post and a nest of spiders scurry out before getting vacuumed up by the hazmat team. It’s so disgusting to watch but I can’t help but watch more.

It’s a tall order, but more power to whoever wants to keep that place clean.
