Instead of the BL ruins giving WvW-wide stat buffs, it would be far better if they were integrated into the objective-taking meta. This would allow GvG’ers to do their thing (same with roamers), but also make the ruins attractive to strategic players.

What this means is that the ruins would be a step, or at least an option, to be controlled on the way to taking keeps or towers.

Possible scenarios:

  • controlling 3/5 points buffs all friendly NPCs
  • controlling 4/5 increases default supply in camps, and for Dolyak deliveries
  • controlling 5/5 buffs all doors and walls

You get the idea, and there are many other possibilities.

The buffs could be limited to the particular BL, but it might be more interesting if they were WvW-wide.

I just want them to be specific to their map and not across all maps.

EB stays buff-less.

Greatly reduced lag caused by the stat calculation

A place for 1v1, XvX, etc if you enjoy that sort of thing

Harder to attack enemy territory because they’re buffed and to take the buff away you have to split up your forces

I agree with both opinions posted so far, i like the idea of having them give non player stat buffs and I also like them being specific to their map and not wvw wide. EB was designed to be a more neutral map (all the spawns are at equal spots, all servers have the same amount of keeps, towers, camps). There is no reason a server should be buffed across all the maps for something that was done on a borderland by a few players. My main thing is to remove the stat buff. Tons of the community have said they don’t want it, yet the devs won’t listen to us.
