Hi guys,

Me and my guild are really interested in GvGs and I know alot of other guilds were too. Sadly there was never a way to keep track of your progress and most importantly compare yourself to other guilds, until now!

I’d like to present a website where you can:
- Compare yourself to other guilds
- Keep track of your previous matches
- Check your wins and losses
- Challenge other guilds
- Add your guild’s contacts
- Add your guild’s website, youtube and twitch stream
- Check the agenda with upcoming GvGs

And there’s going to be alot more in future releases!

It is still in beta, I tested it alot, but there might still be some bugs in it. If you find any please let me know!

That’s like saying the 9 o’clock news contains sports just without the sports part.

Im soooo sure these “ratings” will be taken seriously…. At least you did more work than Anet towards implementing GVG.

Maybe ANet can support this relatively easy:

Place a new NPC in lion-arch beside the WvW-portals
- A guild-team can register there
- 2 registered teams can agree to do a match
- if they did both teams are ported to an empty new instance of a (south part of the) borderlands map
- an exit button let them go back to the lion-arch.

Would have 2 advantages:
- GvG does not distrurb Wvw, nor does WvW disturb GvG (directly or by producing laags)
- GvG can be done between guilds even when they do not have a WvW-match.

If only you did this like start of this year, there would be nice amount of entries by now. Like 10 alone from RG vs X.
Couple months ago there was plenty of GvGs played between a few guilds in the piken-SFR- … axis. And lately in the piken-baruch-augury.
But I guess old gvg won’t be added there. So the rankings evolve very slowly to show anything.

This is why I would like more of the focus to be showcaseing the individual matchups instead of rankings. As the rankings will take so huge amount of time to showcase something real.
But I would rather be very interested to see a summary of GvGs scores so I could see
3.6.2013 FURY [8 – 0] MoU 30v30, and think
“nice ok FURY just won 8-0 versus Masters of the Universe. But looks like they have lost all gvgs before that. Guess they improved. Altho they did 30v30 which is kinda too much meat for skilled and fair match”. The ranking simply won’t give me such information due to tier restrictions and simply because of the lack of gvgs played.

This is what I would like to see: comments having links to VoDs, mayby recap how it went, better match up info with class composition

Old GvGs can be added and I agree that it will take a few weeks for the ratings to stabilize but that’s the way it is, there is no way to prevent that.

The leaderboard is just the frontpage, previous GvGs have already been implemented, you just need to click on the guild’s name and you will get their info. Sizes can also be viewed here.

The upcoming GvGs are working, but no guilds have made challenges yet.

What there is now is just the basics, I’m still working on improvements and am definetly open for suggestions.

All and all I’m impressed with all the enthousiasm towards the website. I have already recieved 30 requests within a day and more than 50% has been approved.

I hope more guilds will add their guild to the site and that people will start submitting (and approving) scores so the ratings can start doing their work!

Edit: To american guilds, when you add your guild make sure to enter your account name, not character game. For some reason the game won’t allow me to contact character names which are on the NA servers.

This is awesome! Hopefully this gets enough attention and ANet realizes there’s real interest in this kind of stuff…

This was the official leader of guilds in GW1… we had GvG mode there.. let’s hope Anet bring it back soon…

That’s what i wanted to say. But until this piece of magic happens come back to GW and lets play real GvG, pls!

I have to say,…the Idea is quit good but the ladder will never be representative.

My Guild Praetorians [KoA] (former Kodasch Allianz) had played lots of GvGs.

For Example [Nuke] from Baruch, [DEX] from JS, [Aegis] and [GD] from Elona, [ECL] from [SFR] and many more.

But we have never had the option to face guilds like Red Guard. Between Jan 13 and now we have played 13-14 weeks against ELona and Jadesea and had no option for having other GvGs.

We can not swap Servers for every GvG.

I would say this could work for some “Serverhopping-Guilds” but not for all.

With the new random matchup system there will be more variety, so you will have the possibility to face more guilds than before.
And hopefully a-net sees, that there is a huge interest in this sort of competition and they’ll do something for it.

I think we should not watch at the ranks. For me, the results are interesting.

Im eager to see more guilds sign up and eventually this page can become representative of the gvg scene in Gw2. Pitty u didnt have the idea a few months ago!

Defenetly some ideas have been given that are interesting, the one I like the most is including some links to the videos/streams of the match on the specific gvg info.

Seems cool but GvG takes place in WvW, an uncontrolled and chaotic environment. How will GvGs be “fair”?

Well Pot.6805, gvgs are a pre-arranged battle between two guilds on equal numbers and with preset rules (eg no stack weapons etc) set up by the guild leaders.

Like the iniciative of the op, not everything depends on on the gaming company.

The community that makes up the game is vital and in the case of gvgs, from my experience, the WvW community has been mature and respectful.

99% of the people that I have seen stumbling upon a gvg have left the area or sat down along the other spectators to watch the show.

Yes ANet could help us more (cough) but while the help is not arriving everything depends on us and our individual and collective decisions.

Think there’s a bug, we’ve tried multiple times to challenge another guild to a 10v10, when they accept it, it just disappears, same happening when they challenge us. (Bug happening with DA and Pro, NA rank).

Scheduling a 15v15 with TW worked though, so maybe the bug is related to size?

I could most definitely see my guild doing weekly games, league style!

We can’t use the upcoming GvG option. Mya challanged Dawn, they accept but its dont show as upcoming GvG. Hope you will find the error :-P.

Added a new functionality today.

- You can now compare guilds 1 on 1 if they have done any GvGs. The winner is dependend on the following:

- Matches vs eachother
- Matches vs the same opponents
- Win/loss ratio

I don’t think the ratings system is very good to use personally at this time, since not every guild has the ability to challenge every other. Maybe better to use a simple win-loss ratio, even though that won’t show the actual skill level of the guild.

Maybe throw in a short description of the guilds, type history/background/goals’ish, and allow people to link videos to their respective matchups.

Agreed, I also think the ranking will never represent much, since tiers won’t allow most guilds to fight each other, but I don’t know how that could change. I think the most important is just helping with organizing matches and keeping a history track.

Is there any way to unschedule a GvG after a challenge was accepted? We had one for this week but we were moved to different tiers…

Great site. Hopefully more people will take it upon themselves to spread the word about this site and get other guilds on their own servers registered.

Looks like you have done a very good job so far! I have a question though; would you consider making a leader board for GvG’s smaller than 10v10?

Needless to say, competing with the larger guilds would not be an option for smaller guilds, which I feel would skew the ratings. The skill sets needed to do smaller scale GvG’s is also very much different than those needed for larger scale GvG’s.

since you added the timezone theres a problem. If i do the format d/m/y it shown for all like this. Maybe you need to fix it or turn off d/m/y.

What is exactly the problem? The site should show entirely in your own format and will be recalculculated for someone else with other settings.
