Were there a lot of people on screen? Or a big battle going on? Give more detailed info.
Sometimes not all the enemies get rendered and they could be targeting you. That might be one thing that is happening to you?

I had this happen in hotjoin too, except nobody was even near me or targeting me.

I was alone just walking. 3rd time was just a few people fighting far from me and it still happened.

Sounds like catapult to me. You will probably see more of this as people are wealthier and more people can afford them
