Its pretty clear each server has their strengths at different play times. That being said, as a player on IoJ, I would rather have this matchup and be behind the leader by 4k, than to be blowing out 2 other servers by 300k, honestly there is no fun in that for any server. Props to SBI and JQ for making this the most enjoyable WvW week I’ve had to date.

this morning severly undermanned on JQBL we at IoJ ninja’d the hills twice once from SBI and once from JQ. First time with only 6 people and the second time with 10 people. Shows that with stragety and alittle luck you can go places. Also after second ninja we held it completely and still have it

We had outmanned all morning, even with WM They did leave for about 30 minutes and in that 30 minutes we lost tower to JQ and EH to you guys. They came back though!

I don’t really care much for conspiracies or anything silly like that. We IoJ players knew our weak spot going into this match up and it showed itself today. Not taking anything from our oceanic players as they have done a great job and continue to impress us with their play and their never give up mentality.

Either way, we will continue to bring it until Friday in all time slots and see where that gets us. No matter how it turns out this week’s match up has been a lot of fun and very good fights. I just hope we will continue to have good fights like this until the end of the week.

Let’s get off this topic, and back to the topic at hand. The awesome battle going on in T1. Even with the outmanned buff occasionally popping it’s ugly head, this has been and still is a great fight. Let’s keep it that way.

Eventually, we’ll meet up with BG. And we’ll see what’s what.

score update past evening today! SBI and JQ almost tied IOJ lit behind.

Just to be clear, if IoJ end up back in tier 2 next week, I for one wont be QQ’ing. This has been the best week of WvWvW to date for me. IoJ have put up a good biff. We have shown we can duke it out with the best and there are some really well run crews in JQ and SBI.

Sadly tier 2 this week was a farce from the get go, hopefully with next week things may be a little more fun.

Should we return to tier 2 and I for one am not giving up till the maths says its over, we will be hungrier and healthier than ever to get back to the top.

This really has been a blast this week y’all. Even having SBI and IoJ join forces to deny us the jumping puzzle finish (who can say no to free siege blueprints? … ) still involved a lot of fun PvP. You guys could at least have had the decency to camp a spot earlier in the run, though. lol

I’d love to see this matchup again next week. IoJ was behind last I saw but they’ve certainly not thrown in the towel. As someone else said I’ll take losing by a few points and having awesome PvP over winning by 300k and having it be a ghost town any day.

Most of this could all be fixed by making it so people who server transfer are locked out of WvW for a week.

1. SBI is and still is a full server. You can’t transfer into full servers.
2. BG is still a full server. Anyone who leaves can’t transfer back in.

The status of server population is based on currently online players and not a fix cap so it is completely possible for people to transfer over during off peak hours.

Funny really. When HoD was dominating, everyone and their mother demanded a JQ-SBI-ET match, because it would be the most even one.

Now we have JQ-SBI-IoJ, and it is the best WvW match since the 1 week matches started.

Agreed – this has been a fun fight. My zerg has gotten spanked hard when we acted like idiots, and rewarded for flanking manuevers and speed.

Ill say, I have only had a few hours to play since I work weekends, but its been a blast.

Literally fights EVERYWHERE for every inch of ground.

So much more fun than winning by a mile.

IOJ BL Counteroffensive (9pm to 12pm SG/PH time)

Took us three hours of constant siege to re-take the Garrison (which was captured by Jade Quarry). Non-stop, unadulterated wargasmic action! ;3

Kudos to [LOA] (never been prouder) and kudos to [FIST] (thanks Azma!) for spearheading the counter-offensive along with [ND] (who somehow kept battering the western walls non-stop on the other side o_o).

Thanks to everyone who helped too. Saw a lot of IOJ guilds rise to the challenge. We were fighting with zergs twice the size of ours, and not only holding out, but winning!

Up until today the T1 match has been brilliant to say the least. I am sure every server has had a good time with some epic and hard fought battles all over.

It is clear though that the “night capping” is still the biggest winner for any server be rely great if they do work something out there ands make points gained accomidate the numbers in the field.

But yea this week has been one of the finest weeks in W v W.

^ IMO I really disagree with the concept of nightcapping.

I mean, it may be off-peak to a player, but it certainly isn’t to other players, even those from the same country.

I think what’s good about this matchup is that even during off-peak, each server has relatively good populations.

Although the recent mess up in populations is, I think, from the Halloween event.

As a player said in our facebook group, “we never give up, but we’ll go get our candy first”, and “OMG, they have found out that PvE is our weakness!”.

Paraphrased, of course.

Anyway, still, GG guys. Regardless of what happens during the rest of the week, it has been a good, good fight already.

Pretty much over now, was a fantastic weekend. I expect with the 7000 point offpeak lead and IoJ down even more then that, and the arrival of halloween stuff, this great matchup has run its course. Unless another server has a big off peak presence, JQ will stay on top.

Next weekend should be good, was fun seeing IoJ.

IoJ was already down 5k+ pts before the event went live, so.. candy or not, something else was a factor first.

Anyway, it’s been really fun. I think any of these worlds could win with enough effort.

Amazing how through the first 3 days it wasn’t about population or night capping or anything really coming from the others servers, but now that JQ is in the lead all of that stuff comes out. We took the lead once lost it and took it back and now its all about population and coverages now. But when we were in 3rd none of this cme out, when we were in 2nd none of this came out.
I know people are going to be surprised but I have seen the outmanned buff this week. Last night was instant queue on all 4 maps-the whole night I was in each BL following and listening to the commanders of other guilds seeing the different tactics etc, no que from 5pm est-12am est on any map

And now on Tuesday with over 3 1/2 days to go you say “pretty much over now”

If JQ actually wins this matchup you won’t really need to look for any reason other then that

All this BG crap is horrible however and ofc the you can’t transfer to so and so and then transfer back nonsense doesn’t fly. I used to think that and I even posted that I believed this, but the fact of the matter is it just simply isnt true on any server at all because there is not one server that retains “full” status 24/7 and anyone who actually thinks that would actually have to spend 24 straight hours on server select refreshing the screen, which no one will ever do.

I for one, and I never thought I would say this, but I think SBI and JQ, if they wind up 1 and 2, should really send BG a message next week if they happen to get into tier 1.

I personally hope people don’t roll over now. I like being down and I like playing under alot of duress, and SBI and IoJ has certainly given me plenty of both so far. I like having a reason to be in there.

And btw you can do your monthly in WvW plenty of candy corn nodes on the map. I did level 1 and 2 in about 85 minutes this morning in there

Well…we had outmanned on two maps right now as does ioJ so…who knows. maybe we just conveniently lost coverage? Still was a good fight while it lasted. JQ made some amazing golem rushes and coordinated wonderfully all weekend though no doubt.

Also JQ is just letting ioJ do what they please in Eb while they spawn camp Sbi…they know who to knock out next.(we just pushed back though, however it was at a cost of coverage in the borderlands…made this post like 30 mins ago and had to edit it down here because the forum bugging).

Yeah, obviously two of the three servers involved having outmanned buff has nothing to do with the current score. For three days it was pretty even, now work week is here and its not. Seems pretty obvious to me. Was a great weekend, looking forward to the next.

Definitely an awesome weekend. I figured whatever server had the most folks available who could play during the work week would pull ahead. Seems that’s JQ. Either way, I’m not at all disappointed in IoJ’s showing.

stop complaining about the Moderators in this thread. They are Moderators, not developers or programmers. They do not fix the bugs, they moderate the forums. And this is the thread for the matchup, please keep it on topic. We’ve already had 1 thread closed down.

Great matchup thus far. We here on IoJ have fallen behind, but not out of the fight. We’ll keep bringing it, even with all the Candy flying around. Might just take us a little bit to come off the sugar high. If we’re not in T1 at the end of the week, we’ll be back soon!

Special shout out to those on JQ who helped with the glitching/exploiting Thief. Always good to see the community work together, even when we’re trying to stab each other in the faces.

You know what’s the annoying part about the Halloween update? The lack of people who realize they can still complete their monthlies in WvW. Hell, it’s even easier to do it in WvW it feels like, as the mining bonuses we’ve been earning mean that you often get two candy corn per pick swing, and there are about three nodes per base or camp that reset once every hour or two, so you can take them whenever you finish helping your team capture something.

Janthir is the most overachieving server in the game. We do more with less than anyone else

we need more EU and SEA (WvWvW-oriented) guilds though, that much cannot be denied

I’m on SBI and it was explained to me quite vehemently this morning in Lions Arch that they can play WvW any time, these events are only once a year. So you can see the mind set of our server…:oP
