Well it looks like IoJ is finally going to tier 3, its kinda of bitter sweet for me…I actually enjoyed fighting out manned every night and still putting up the PPT and gaining ranking, but it will be a welcomed break from the same fight every week. Dont worry BG and SoR we will be back, just gona take a small hiatus.
It will be really interesting to see how you guys do in T3. Don’t underestimate CD and FA. I’m sure they will be out in force with the excitement of a new enemy.

IoJ pretty much justs fights whoever we get thrown at at this point. If we have a hard even matchup it will be damn close to a first. I know for a fact that there are quality guilds on FA and CD, and I look forward to a new matchup.
[HIRE] transferring to another server probably played a part as well. They ran with some really big numbers the past couple of weeks during my prime playtime (late night PST). I think they went to Ehmry Bay. Not sure if [ND] Never Die followed as well. Either way, IoJ lost a chunk of Oceanic/SEA players which was primarily keeping them competitive in T2.
If I played on IoJ, I’d be relieved honestly. They’ve been in T2 for what, almost 3 months, with one week in T1? It’ll probably be a breath of fresh air for them after spinning their wheels for so long.
As for TC…there is a q most times of the day to get into EB. I think we’ll show up and put on a good show. We’ve been slowly improving as the weeks go by.

What lol? We’re mostly NA and always have been. We have a strong Oceanic crew and some good Europeans as well. CD also has a great Oceanic presence. They were mostly known for that in the past, but they got NA transfers while they were in Tier 4.

We lost only hire and another small oceanic guild. Actually a large chunk of hire stayed behind and formed a new guild. ND has publicly stated they are going nowhere. I don’t know how many times i have o say this but “IoJ is an unofficial oceanic server”’ our community numbers on the server are huge but they love PvE, what happened to ET and HOD will never happen to us as occasionally our pve happy members do w3 as well. We are working on integrating more PvE’ers to try out W3 as well running show ou the ropes nights.
The remainder of the guilds love our server and are going nowhere, working very hard to improve it and seeing it improve. T3, we’ve been there once, maybe twice in our history. Everyone seems to not give us credit for never being below this level. We’re a force a great destination for anyone interested in joining a hard working never say die server that also doesn’t mind a bit of pve.
Going to be an interesting week, go TC push hard I really hope you enjoy the challenge of t2, let me say its freaking tough but a lot of fun and your going to imprive if you like it or not.
T2 been all about BG versus SoR with IoJ interference in both sides (Sorry Janthir guys but i haven’t seen your server dominating like BG or SoR. No offense).
But even then, I will Miss IoJ. Its good to fight somenthing that isn’t SoR for a change… And we had such good times… Like when some guildless Charr Warrior helped me to kick off 5-6 SoR guys from BGBL JP.
Anyway, good luck on T3, but we won’t wait for you to return as BG still want to get back to T1.

will looking at the past matches (not including this one) the points were generally close so I wouldnt say either server dominated in tier…if one did they would have moved up
Over the past many weeks of fighting IOJ and BG 15+ hours a week in WvW, I think I’ve come to a fair understanding of the two servers.
The first is that every server has a few good guilds, and a few big zergs. At first it seemed like BG had more zergs than guilds, but now I don’t think that was true. Both can be dangerous depending on what the guilds and commanders choose to attack/defend.
I’m not native to IOJ, but I’ve been here for a long time now, and I can see why IOJ looks like they are just interference in a bigger battle. There are only about 3 hours in a 24 hour period in which IOJ has bigger numbers than the other two, and maybe another 3 in which we’re equal. The rest of the time we are outnumbered or even greatly outnumbered with the outmanned buff even in our own BL.
On that topic, can anyone link an explanation of the score? It makes sense to me why IOJ has stayed in T2 if it takes into consideration how many players are on the field.

What many people on other servers wouldn’t realize, is HIRE’s recent success comes from aggressive recruiting and getting other guilds to merge into them over the past month. They claimed this was to consolidate efforts and improve IoJ’s WvW performance.
What we have only now found out, was they have been planning to transfer the entire time, and along with Grimaldi of Blood Pact they secretly attempted to poach as many WvW players as possible from IoJ before they transfered.
Man, they transferred to our enemy server and even I couldn’t dream up that kind of conspiracy. We’ve had an IoJ guild spam recruiting in our server for a few weeks now too, so maybe you’ll get some people to compensate. Sounds like HIRE wasn’t that successful though (explains our current match score), though BP fields a ton of people at times.
Yeah they are all numbers game and attitudes of do it our way or the highway. We didn’t want to do it their way so they tried to poach as many before hitting the highway.
It’s all good we only lost a couple of decent people and even less decent players. Noticed by the fact EBay is still coming last even though 100’s of w3 dedicated have xferd there in the past 1 month.
Edit: The evidence and in my mind 100% proof of the conspiracy happening is on our server forums linked below.
Blackgate also got 2-3 new Guilds, which is why many of us that played a lot last week are able to enjoy the PvE aspects of the game and the event.

To be honest the last few weeks have been tiring on IoJ. SOR we could handle, their numbers went up and down, their zergs were of a sane size or they broke up into smaller teams that we could deal with, they had a similar level of aggressiveness and (dis?)organisation to IoJ.
BG on the other hand have just been growing. At the beginning of this series of T2 matchups they were clearly a challenge and to anyone who watched the map were extremely aggressive. We would continually be on the backfoot defending Anz/Speldan/Keeps.
However, probably over the last two weeks or so it has changed. I can’t turn a corner without running into 40 BG players. They are able to fight on at least 2, more often than not 3 fronts on EB and it doesn’t stop in the off hours. I’m getting OM buffed during our supposed Oceanic strength times. Not that I don’t enjoy a stiff fight but it does get tiring after a while with no break.
BP and Hire were not up to t2 standards. They wanted easy wins and thus went down.
Hire was able to field more players as a single guild than 2 or even 3 pvp only guilds on friday. They were given IOJ BL to defend with 70+ players and got their butts handed to them, when a week prior a much smaller guild of 20ish(add a few pugs) was able to hold it. The skill level on IOJ man to man is very much within t1 and t2, it’s just that we’ve been unfortunate at the numbers game. I personally look forward to T3, as it should be more evenly matched numbers wise(I hope) and people will definitely be able to see why we’ve been able to hang onto t2 for such a long time. Both SoR and BG have been heavily trying to recruit guilds on their opposition servers for awhile now and it looks like BG was the winner there.

Word going around is FA wants to stomp IoJ so TC stays in tier 2 where their numbers belong. I hope the match is good either way since FA has been getting lazy.

Very true. We can see what’s happening right now when IoJ isn’t on the map. The whole WvW system falls apart when one server leaves the fray.

We are well aware of that. Its not our first encounter with IoJ. I dont know how much different is IoJ since we last met them though. But I think we were stronger than we currently are.

IoJ isn’t the only server that has wintersday going on. A lot of our guildmates have been gone doing PvE events because we had to pull longer shifts last week.
You don’t belong here. Make all the excuses you want, it doesn’t change that fact. As another member said. The scoring system is flawed. But the way IoJ was gaining most their points was in the Oceanic time where we lacked activity. Now we have some new guilds (that joined on their own will) to fill that slot, and are beating IoJ, so those points now go to Blackgate.
I’m not trying to be rude or troll IoJ. But it’s been a simple fact for awhile that IoJ should have moved down. I don’t understand why ArenaNet would keep a team winning for 5 weeks straight in the same tier instead of switching it with a team thats lost 5 weeks straight and think that’s balanced.
You guys will have more fun in T3 anyways where you can actually compete.

my bad on the jumping ships I miss read what you said originally (about winning in a lower tier to loosing in a higher tier)
And I am well aware that IoJ isnt the only server with wintersday, but when we are ALREADY fighting out manned and then an event comes through and takes away our casual players and pugs, us getting bumped down to tier 3 is the result. (you even said that BG 2-3guilds which allowed you guys to enjoy the event, IoJ has not gotten any new guilds)
and if you would read my earlier post you would know that IoJ has been waiting to get to tier 3 because we know we dont belong in tier 2, but not because of skill…just simply numbers.

I’m sure FA and CD would have way more points if TC didn’t have a max population that filled all BL nearly 100% of the time.
Every night TC gets ahead by an additional 10k+ points. It’d be fun to actually have a 1v1v1 instead of a fight for second.
This matchup, only once have I seen a queue for any of TC’s maps. So no, we don’t “nearly fill all the BL nearly 100% of the time”.
What we do accomplish however, is switching between maps when needed so that we can maximize our presence, and then leave a skeleton crew to defend. Maybe that’s why we seem to be everywhere all the time. This is part of the WvW meta after all.
Regardless, we’ll probably get roflstomped into the ground come oceanic primetime vs BG and Rall. We still have no real coordinated night crew aside from who’s online in PiNK afaik.

I’m mainly a PvE player myself, but with this change, I’ve decided I’m going to get in there and lend a hand as much as I can also, even if its just babysitting supplies.

I see your point, but there are a few key differences
1) Hire recruited ppl on IoJ to fight for IoJ then took them to a different server
2) that is only one guy recruiting individual players that dont mind or in fact want to leave the current server they are on
3) that is not IoJ’s strategy, that happens to be only part of Drgn’s strategy
