I’m still seeing so many scouts refreshing siege and scouting in the borderlands but they are not in any squads to earn points while scouting =/

How do we make it easier for these scouts to join up and earn points for the work they are doing?

I can pretty much sum it up for you, since I talked to quite a few regular scouts.

The squad leader/commander (actually the entire squad) can see the scout’s location. The squad leader/commander can decide to tell you not to scout and to get on pin. The squad leader can choose to micromanage exactly what you are doing.

I’ve seen a few instances so far where the scouts have been screamed at and called out for not coming to the pin. And (this is just MY opinion), most “pro” scouts know what they are doing, and why, and don’t like to be micromanaged. And I don’t blame them.

Have seen a few squads using it but agree w/ Skynet, most scouts want to scout their way. On the flip side it’s also still a new feature so may take some time for people to understand it and use it more.

Just as another situational thing to add. I would sometimes forward scout and hover around tags and just take camps and sentries ahead of them. Having the scout thing tacked on me would actually hurt my participation cause I was actually doing more little things to easily maintain participation than the larger group that was in a zerg fight or working on a longer siege. (I’m not entirely sure what counts for scout participation, but I don’t think that player kills by the group count for scouts participation. I could be wrong though. It’s been a while since I had that tag stuck on me.) So that’s my reasoning why I don’t join squad or would ask to NOT have the squad scout thing tacked on.

If you are talking about the scout reward track participation thing in squads then I think that function is pretty useless – the time you need that most is when you leave scout(s) on your home border when the squad border hops, but if the squad is on a different border the scout doesn’t get participation from them…..

If we, again my guys, my experience, have a commander and some one willing to Scout they get it right away. They are not molested, they get help if they say its new for them. How ever, our server\s has the problem that we are divided by two Hardliner groups of both linked Servers.
Those people flame and molest scouts for being from a cerain server. They sit in their own TS and feel great.
But apart from this, no we do not molest out scouts, lower mid Tier bliss i guess

You can yell at me all you want, I still won’t come. I’m the one telling you where the blob is. If, as a commander, you don’t understand the value of this, frankly you don’t deserve to be followed. If it’s an all hands on deck to defend, that’s dufferent.

I thought they fixed that issue? Has anyone tested it since the update?

Yes we do. We ask people scouting if they need it and usually it is obvious who scouts and gives info.

But I always try to invite people to squad. If they don’t want to, that’s their choice.

Also, forcing scouts to blob with you is one of the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard, as it’s not likely if the blobs are big enough 2-3 people are going to matter and it also renders the group blind.

LOL, commanders only want their scouts and independent roamers scouts.

In response to the thread, some commanders just plain forget because this feature is new. I’ve also found people who adamantly stay away from joining squads. Including one person who swore they got more participation by being on their own? Weirdness.
